Plastic is everywhere now. Plastic is polluting rivers, lakes, seas. Doing damage to wildlife. Tiny plastic particles are scattering in our drinking water. That's why the Canadian government is promising to stop the use of disposable plastic from next year.

Every year, Canadians dump 3 million tons of plastic waste. Of this, only 9 percent can be refined. That is, most of the plastic falls into the ground. 29,000 tons of plastic are released into the natural environment.

On October 6, Jonathan Wilkinson, Canada's Minister for Environment and Climate Change, announced that the government's next goal is to reduce plastic waste to zero by 2030. The plan will protect wildlife and water. This will reduce greenhouse gas emissions and increase employment. An important part of this plan is to ban the use of disposable plastic products. Plastic bags, straw, household goods are now integrated into the environment. These products are mostly recycled. Alternatives to these products are also available.

According to Reuters, Canadian Prime Minister Justin Trudeau is also in favor of banning the use of plastic. He said Canada plans to ban some single-use plastics, such as straw, bags and cutlery, by early 2021 to reduce plastic waste and protect the world's oceans.

The Canadian government is planning to ban six types of plastic products. These are plastic bags, straws, shovels, six pack rings, kitchen utensils with spoons and knives, recyclable food packets. The list was released last week.

The Canadian government's plan also includes improvements in the plastic recovery and recycling process, to keep the economy afloat as well as protect the environment. The Government of Canada says it will focus on the long-term sustainability of plastic products through attracting investment in the recycling infrastructure sector and technology innovation....
