Corona state of emergency in Peru extended

Peru on Friday extended their country's state of emergency until September 30 and extended lockdowns in some of the areas most affected by the coronavirus. The government said so. News from AFP.

Coronavirus has the highest mortality rate in the world in South America. In the country, 6 people per lakh have died due to Covid-19 disease.

Prime Minister Walter Martz said that although there was a plan to maintain the national emergency by the end of August, it was extended to September due to the current situation.

In Peru, a country of 33 million people, the coronavirus has so far infected more than 620,000 people and killed more than 26,000.

Lockdown has been announced in Peru's Casco, Moquegua, Puno and Tekna divisions as the situation in Corona has not improved. From July 1, the country began lifting restrictions on the rest of the country, including the capital, Lima.
