The Hajj is named after the fact that Muslims from different parts of the world flock to the Kaaba to seek the history, significance and teachings of the Hajj. Hajj is one of the five pillars of Islam and an indisputable obligatory act of worship. This infallible provision of Islam is one of the most beautiful images of unity and equality. A great reunion ceremony to gain nearness to the great God. This provision of Hajj is an excellent example of world brotherhood. Hajj has a history, its significance and teachings. About four and a half thousand years ago today, by the command of Allah, Hazrat Ibrahim (AS) first introduced Hajj. Since then, the rule of performing Hajj has been passed down in the tradition of the Prophet and the Messenger. Hazrat Muhammad (peace be upon him) declared Hajj to be obligatory on able-bodied Muslims. In verse 125 of Surah Al-Baqarah, the issue of the construction of the Ka'bah is stated as follows: And We commanded Ibrahim and Ishmael to make the house most holy for those who go round and round about, and for those who prostrate themselves. Before the introduction of Hajj, Hazrat Ibrahim (AS) rebuilt the Kaaba with his son Ishmael (AS) by the command of Allah. Note that the Kaaba was first built by Hazrat Adam (AS) with the help of angels. With the help of Hazrat Ibrahim Jibraeel (AS) he rebuilt it on the same foundation i.e. in the place of Kaaba built by Hazrat Adam (AS). When the construction work was completed, Ibrahim (AS) was instructed to perform Hajj. Allah informed him about all the rules of Hajj through Hazrat Jibraeel (AS). Ibrahim (peace be upon him) with his son Ishmael (peace be upon him) circumambulated the Ka'bah seven times, kissed Hajr Aswad and performed all the rules of Hajj one by one. Then Allah's command came to convey the message of Hajj to the world. Narrated from Hazrat Ibn Abbas (RA), ‘When Hazrat Ibrahim (AS) was ordered to declare Hajj to be obligatory, he prayed to Allah, it is a desert without people. There is no one here to hear the announcement. How will my voice reach where there are dense settlements? He said, "Your duty is only to announce." It is my responsibility to reach out to the whole world. Hearing this, Hazrat Ibrahim (AS) then stood at Ibrahim in Makkah and announced. Allah exalts it. 'In some narrations, he announced that he had climbed Mount Abu Qubayes. It is narrated that 'that call of Allah Ibrahim (AS) reached the spiritual world beyond the limits of the material world and the souls who responded to that call called Labbaik will gather in the desert of Arafat till the Day of Resurrection if Allah wills!' Thus Mecca became the pilgrimage As the field. This Hajj is one of the most beautiful scenes of the great gathering of the world Muslim Ummah. Regarding the importance and significance of Hajj, the Qur'an further states, "There are clear signs in it like Ibrahim in Makkah." And whoever enters it is secure. And the Hajj of this house is the duty of Allah upon man, who is able to reach it. And those who disbelieve (should remember) Allah is not dependent on the worlds. 'Surah Al' Imran, verse 96. Again the same message echoed.
