Favorite flower gerberas of India and the Netherlands are now blooming in the soil of Manikganj. These commercially grown flowers are being sold at various flower shops in the capital. Although odorless, beauty lovers are overwhelmed by the aesthetic beauty of this flower.
Cultivation :
The land should be given adequate amount of organic manure. Then the land should be prepared in fine tilth by deep cultivation 40-45 cm deep in horizontal and long way. As a result, all the organic fertilizers will mix well with the soil
(B) Bed preparation :
For gerbera, the height of the bed is 20 cm and the width is 1.0-1.2 m. There should be a 50 cm drainage ditch between the two beds so that water does not accumulate in the land. Since flowers are usually procured in a phased manner for 2 years, care has to be taken while preparing the land and beds.
C) Planting :
Once the bed is made, the suckers should be planted at a distance of 50 cm from row to row and 40 cm from tree to tree, understanding the variety and the type of growth. The seedlings should be placed on the ground in such a way that the crown or central growing point of the seedlings is above the surface level. If the crown goes under the ground, there is a possibility of foot rot infection.
(D) Planting time :
Gerberas can be planted all year round but seedlings should be planted in October-November to get better flowers and higher yields.
(E) Irrigation :
Since the roots of gerbera penetrate deep, it is better to give flood irrigation instead of repeated sprinkler irrigation. Care should be taken while irrigating the water so that waterlogging does not occur. This is because waterlogging in the gerbera fields accelerates soil borne diseases. When there is a lack of water in the soil, the tree falls wilting, in which case the flower stalk becomes smaller.
So interesting article dear 😍 I love the flowers very much 💝💝
