Why are the letters on the keyboard so random?

If you are not used to it, writing something on the computer keyboard is like fighting. Many are seen typing with one finger to find the letters. Tired of finishing a sentence. And not only computers, but also smartphones now use the same format of virtual keyboards.

The layout we use on the keyboard is called Qwerty. Look at the letters on the top left hand side of the keyboard. In English you will find the letters Q, W, E, R, T and Y side by side. The format of these six letters together is called quartet.

See the picture above. The character layout on modern keyboards has been chosen from this nineteenth-century instrument. The first day the Remington typewriter was released on the market in 183, none of the surviving survivors were born then. But 147 years later, we still cling to this format.

At that time, there was a reason behind arranging the letters of the typewriter in this way. But whatever the root cause, there are two types of theories. One theory is that the letters on the typewriter were alphabetical in the beginning. However, at that time some people typed on the keyboard so fast that the rods attached to the bottom of the buttons would hit each other. Sometimes typing would get stuck and stopped. Qwerty keyboard was introduced to solve that problem.

The most commonly used characters in the QWERTY format are removed so that the lower rods do not intersect with one another as you type. With the popularity of Remington keyboards, Qwerty keyboards also became popular.

However, Jimmy Stamp of 'Smithsonian' magazine refuted the above theory by quoting Japanese researchers. Christopher Scholes was the first to patent a keyboard with a QWERTY layout. However, Stamp said he was not the only one to invent the format. Rather telegraph operators used typewriters to make English copies of Morse signals. For their convenience, the QWERTY keyboard has changed over time to make typing faster and easier. In other words, after a lot of research, Qwerty was invented as the most effective method.

It is not that there has been no attempt to introduce new types of layouts since then. However, we have become accustomed to this Qwerty keyboard. Second, once learned, it is quite easy. And many people can make a storm on the divine keyboard without seeing it.
