In the past, grasshoppers were once called the devil's needle, and it was feared that grasshoppers would sew the faces of wicked, disobedient children. Yet, many in the village spend a significant amount of their childhood chasing after small grasshoppers. As this familiar insect of ours is very ancient, many legends are prevalent around it. Another well-known legend about grasshoppers is that these insects can bring dead snakes back to life! While the legends are interesting and surprising to hear, none of them are true at all. However, there is a lot of scientific and interesting information about the insect, which is unknown to many of us. This arrangement has been arranged with all that. The small grasshopper has a very ancient history. Grasshoppers have been flying in the sky long before the dinosaurs walked on the earth. Grasshoppers have lived on Earth for over 300 million years. With the change of environment over time, in the course of evolution, the once vast insect grasshopper has turned into a small insect today. Going back to the Carboniferous era, it can be seen that the ancestors of grasshoppers were the largest insects. The largest insects in the history of the world could be found in this era. The ancient griffinfly is the largest insect in the history of the world, considered to be the ancestor of the grasshopper. The wingspan of the griffinflies was 61 centimeters from one end to the other and the wing span was 28 inches. In the Carboniferous era the amount of oxygen in the air was more than 30%, especially in the field this amount was up to about 50%. It is thought that the presence of oxygen in the air was one of the reasons for the huge size of the insects. Thanks to the big two eyes, the sight of the grasshopper is extraordinary. Their vision is about 360 degrees and grasshoppers can see more colors than humans. The eyes of a grasshopper have about 30,000 lenses or omatidia, through which they have acquired extraordinary vision. A grasshopper uses about 70 percent of its brain to analyze visual data, allowing it to easily detect the movements of other insects. Moreover, their eyesight helps them to avoid collisions with other insects or anything while flying and to hunt for food. Anagona of grasshoppers is usually seen near ponds, lakes or reservoirs. This is because female grasshoppers lay their eggs on water, on aquatic plants or algae. This is where the baby grasshopper or nymph hatches. About 9-18 times after the change of nymphal skin or peel, they enter the youth. The nymph completes the feeding phase with other tiny aquatic invertebrates until it grows up. The end of water life occurs by changing skin for the last time as an adult.
