On 12 of February, my family decided to travel to Faisalabad. I was eager to explore Industrial Hub of Pakistan. Before going to Faislabad, i was searching for best spots to visit in Faislabad. I found that Lyallpur museum and Clock Tower are most visited spots in Faislabad.
My heart was jumping to explore the historical treasure in the museum and my eyes were yearning to capture the sights of Famous Clock Tower.
We were in our car and i was reading book. It was great and fine day with sun and little fog outside. I was seeing the roads and trees from car. Sometimes, my eyes were looking outside and sometimes i was focused on pages of book. This cycle was going on till we reached Faislabad.
Clock Tower Faislabad
Locally, Clock Tower is famous as Ghanta Ghar(گھنٹہ گھر). Ghanta Ghar is one of the oldest monument in Punjab,Pakistan. Before this visit i just heard about Clock Tower and you can also read the history of Clock Tower from Wikipedia.
A beautiful, red and tall building which is standing with pride in the middle of the city. Clock Tower is center of eight consecutive markets(Bazaars).
This tower was formally known as Lyallpur Ghanta Ghar as it was built on the command of Sir James Lyall who was deputy Commissioner of Lyallpur (Modern Faislabad) . Seeing such a beautiful architecture infront of me was treat to my eyes. I was standing infront of this building and trying to observe the architecture with keen eyes.
You know, in the middle of roads there were some attractive things to see. I could not put my camera off because everything was looking unique to my eyes. After visiting Clock Tower we headed towards Lyallpur Museum.
Lyallpur Museum
For history lovers what would be more ecstatic than visiting museums? It is feeling and it is vibe. Infact, i should call it complete aesthetic.
When i stepped into museum, i felt like i living the old time when things and people used to be simple and pure. Ahh, Pictures were not allowed. But, i gave an application to management and luckily they approved. It was only due to readcash because i mentioned in my application that i want to write a blog on readcash and i will use photos for informational and educational purposes.
As i said that real aesthetics of indigenous people were exhibited there. Everything which was kept there was a full reminder of our roots and history.
Religious history was showcased there. I stopped to read information about Buddhism and how Buddhism is in roots of this beautiful land.
Standing still i was not in mood to move because i was drowned in my thoughts. Yes, i deeply love history and everything that is entangled with history.
There were so many things (tools) which are no longer in use in this superficial society. But, thankfully these tools are nicely preserved and kept in the museum.
Inside the closed mirror box, there was Fauna of the region. Many of birds and animals are now extinct and some are under the process of Extinction.
Charkha (spinning wheel), most famous in Punjabi culture. In both counties, either it's Pakistan or India this tool is quite popular. If we seek in the history it is deeply rooted in culture. Sadly, now it is available in just form of "handicraft" and no longer in use.
Here you can see old golden color's utensils. These things reminded me of my maternal grandmother's home because they still have this kind of crockery.
Jewellery of old times
Along with jewellery there were other items which were in the cage of mirror.
In the wooden gallery, there were portrait and pictures of heroes who served and played part in history of Punjab region.
Punjab region gave birth to many religions. One religion which got birth from this region is Sikhism. Baba Guru Nanak was the Founder of Sikh Religion.

While discussing the history of India and Pakistan, it is crucial to mention colonization period because without it we can not describe post colonial effects and movements that shaped the identities of people.
Different communication tools were showcased in the mirror. I was walking and reading the names of all those devices. Now these devices are replaced by new and modern devices. Yes, now these are antique and old and part of museum but once these were new and modern too!
Standing on one side, i was observing the shapes and forms of radio. There were gramophones, radio and some other communicative devices.
Wow, this golden color radio captivated my attention so deeply. Believe me, i was making rounds around this beautiful corner. Time is so changed now!
If we are in Faislabad then it's impossible not to talk about Textile because this city is famous for textile as it's Industrial hub.
It's a colorful Charkha. Charkha is colorful and vibrant. How gracefully it was presented there.
In handicrafts, there is no match of this city. This city has so much contribution in handicrafts.
There were colorful handicraft items which were truly fascinating and extremely beautiful. These all items are product of colorful culture.
Carpets with beautiful cultural designs were hanged there. The wooden machine which you are seeing above is actually to make carpets.
On one wall, there were small statues of all the legendary heroes. I touched them with my hands and my heart was thankful to them.
A small beautiful mud home. It's depiction of old times when people used to live in this kind of homes when homes were real homes.
See in the picture which is shown below, women sitting together and working their home chores. These are memories of old days.
My eyes stuck on wall where Pakistani currency notes were presented. These are still in use,but not all of them.
After spending hours in museum and exploring the culture we stepped out of the building and headed back to home.
There was a horse who said good bye to us. It was freezed!
