Paraphrasing means formulating someone else ideas in your own words to paraphrase are source you have to rewrite a passage without changing the meaning of the original text .
Paraphrasing is an alternative to quoting where you copy someone's exact words and put them in quotation marks in academic writing its usually better to paraphrase instant of quoting، because it shows that you have understand the resource and makes your word more original everytime you paraphrase it is important to cite the source. You also have to be careful not to use wording that is too similar to the original. Otherwise you could be at risk of committing plagiarism.

Read the passage several times to fully understand the meaning
Note down key concepts
Write your version of text without looking at the original
Compare your paraphrase text with the original passage and make minor adjustment to phrases that remain too similar

Start your first tense at a different point from the original source used synonyms actually on the words which convey same meaning change the sentence structure break the information into separate sentences this would be helpful for paraphrasing
Difference between paraphrasing and summary:-
There is difference in between paraphrasing and summary , in summary you write the main point of the original text and length does not matter in this only you have describe the text and summary may be shorter in length
While on the other hand in paraphrasing one have to use synonyms on the place of the same words but there is strategy to follow in paraphrasing if there is subject in the beginning of the text you have to change the place from subject to object place and you have to change the active voice to passive voice but in paraphrasing the pragmatic remain same over the whole text means your paraphrased text have to convey the same meaning as that of the original text.
