We get tired of the busyness and hustle and bustle of the day. To keep pace with the speed, our body at the top becomes numb. We are lost in the lap of sleep with tired bodies. I fell unconscious from various noises. The obsession of sleep is mixed with the dirty body. Lost in the realm of dreams. Allaah says (interpretation of the meaning): “And He it is Who made the night a covering for you and the sleep a rest.” (Surat al-Furqan: 46)
In this verse the night is expressed by the word ‘levas’. Just as clothing covers the human body, so does the night cover a natural covering that is cast over the entire universe. Allah Ta'ala has made sleep in such a way that it eliminates fatigue, exhaustion and depression throughout the day. The brain calms down when thoughts and imagination are separated. The meaning of the verse is that We have made the night a covering, then We have made the people and the animals to sleep in it, which is a means of comfort and peace for them. (Qurtubi in Tafsir, Tafsir of the relevant verse). In another verse Allah says, ‘Another of His signs is your sleep by night and by day and seeking His mercy. Indeed in that are signs for a people who give thought. '(Surah Rome: 23)
In the verse, Allah Ta'ala calls sleep a sign of Allah. It is difficult to fall asleep in broad daylight, but it is either temporary or artificially darkened. Which is not always easy, not possible for everyone. That is why Allah Ta'ala has made the night dark and comfortable by making it suitable for sleep. The whole world fell asleep in the darkness of night. If everyone fell asleep at different times, one would be busy with his work while the other was asleep, which would disturb his sleep and disrupt the main purpose of sleep.
So Allah Ta'ala by His omnipotence has made a time obligatory for sleep. All the animals fall asleep at this time and relieve their fatigue, the body is fresh and energetic. Allah the Almighty has reminded the servant of this blessing of Allah in various verses. Irshad is saying, ‘Say, think, if Allah makes the day last till the Day of Resurrection, then who is the god besides Allah who can give you night to rest? Will you not then reflect? '(Surah Qasas: 62). In this verse Allah Ta'ala mentions one of its benefits with night. Said, ‘Bilailin Taskununa Fihi’ means a night so that you can rest and relax.
If you feel tired after spending time without sleep, you can understand how much sleep people need. Because as long as a person is awake, the brain cells work.
Brain cells can be compared to batteries. Just as you have to recharge after using a battery charge, so the human brain cells are charged through sleep. Then in the morning people can work with new energy like new batteries. For this every living being in the world has to sleep. Whether it is an elephant, a fly or a unicellular amoeba. Someone sleeps pulled.
Someone falls asleep intermittently. After 15 minutes of sleep, the dog stays awake for 5 minutes and sleeps again. Dolphins sleep while swimming. Then one part of his brain is asleep and the other part is awake. Some birds fly and sleep. Several studies have shown that if he stays up at night for several days in a row, all the diseases inside his body will be on his neck and his life will be in danger. There are many more fears including high blood pressure, weight gain, mental exhaustion, severe heart damage, loss of life, loss of brain power, sudden heart attack. So they advise not to stay up at night to avoid these deadly damage to the body.
Have you ever woken up and thought that all night I was drowning in the blessings of God Almighty? He could have taken me from this sleep if he had wanted to! He would not give back to my soul. As Allah says, ‘Allah saves the life of man at the time of his death, and at the time of his death who does not die. Then do not spare the life of the one whom you have decreed, and leave the others for a term. Indeed in that are signs for a people who give thought. '(Surat az-Zumar: 42). May Allah Ta'ala grant us the Tawfiq to understand His signs. Amen.
