Allaah has sent down the Qur'aan for the guidance of mankind. So that there is the direction of the right path of man. There is no fear for those who cling to the Qur'an. And those who disobey the provisions of the Qur'an, let them be hypocrites and disbelievers. For them is a terrible punishment. Allaah likened their condition to that of the world and the Hereafter and said: Meaning: Their condition is like that of a person who kindled a fire somewhere and when the fire made everything around him clear, then Allah raised the light around him and left them in darkness. As a result, they see nothing. They are deaf, dumb and blind. So they will not come back. (Surat al-Baqara: verses 16-17) In the previous two verses, the identity and nature of the hypocrites have been highlighted. In these two verses, two parables have been presented. The second analogy is about the class of hypocrites who, being influenced by the truth of Islam, sometimes wished to become true believers, but were prevented from doing so by the attainment of the purpose of the world. In this way they used to spend their days in a state of restlessness. The interpretation of Hazrat Abdullah bin Masood and other Companions is that when the Prophet (peace be upon him) came to Medina, some people converted to Islam. But in a short time they become hypocrites again. Their example is like that of a man who was in darkness; Then he lit the lamp. As a result, his surroundings became illuminated and useful and harmful things became clear in front of him. Suddenly the lamp went out and again the darkness was all around. This is the condition of the hypocrites. At first they were immersed in the darkness of shirk, then they became Muslims and came to light. Knows halal-haram, good-evil. Then they return to disbelief and hypocrisy. As a result, all the lights go out. (Fathul Qadir and Jalaline) The lust, greed and lust of this world lead people from the path of truth, beauty and justice to the path of darkness. Which makes people lose faith. So it is necessary to seek God's mercy in all circumstances. May Allaah grant the entire Muslim Ummah the Tawfeeq to be protected from all kinds of hypocrisy and to live a practical life according to the Qur'aan and Sunnah. Amen.
