Parental Role
Parents generally play an important role in the life of their children, by teaching and guiding them through a successful life. Parents are usually responsible for the well-being of their children and are expected to provide for all of their needs, including proper nourishment and education.
A parent's responsibility also includes protecting their child from dangerous or harmful situations. A child's first teacher is normally his or her parents. It is the parents' duty to make sure that the child becomes settled and learns to live with others and deal with the environment around him.
However, sometimes parents fail to convey proper values to their children and instead, they teach them the wrong things, which may lead a child to an undesirable path of life.
The role of the parent should be to help their children grow into healthy individual and a useful member of society. The parent should also be their guide until the children become capable of handling their own affairs.
Even as a parent, one should know when it is time for their child to spread its wings. There is also a need for more cooperation between the children and the parents in order for both parties to understand each others roles in this relationship.
A parent's role is to love their children unconditionally. It is to prepare their children for life and the world beyond the four walls of their home. It is to teach them about relationships, family, values, and morals.
Parents should not – and cannot – do these things alone. They need the support and understanding of everyone else, from family members to educators and other adults. They need a community that doesn't judge or criticize, but instead supports parents with love and kindness.
Because every child deserves a loving home, every parent needs our support.
If a child finds difficulty in doing his homework, the parents must assist him or her. The parents should help their children by guiding them on how to prepare for the exam and use the internet to prepare. The parents can teach the children how to use the internet and how to use the library as a gateway to search for information. Some parents complain that their children do not like to go out of the house and complain about boredom.
Parents should endeavor to create a conducive environment for their children, and allow them to go out with friends or play group sports, so that they would not be bored. If a child becomes sad, lonely or depressed because he or she left his or her sweetheart, this is when the parent needs to step in and create an avenue for his or her child to meet other people and, if necessary, accompany him or her on outings with friends.
The importance of parenting rests in the ability of parents to be aware of what goes on in their family environment, so that they can find solutions to problems before they make any headway into their lives. A parent should be a good listener and also a good communicator who starts early in teaching his or her children basic skills on communication and how to deal with people.
