A run down of some basic things you need to know to get into Cryptocurrency from a UK user
SECURITY
Well the most important thing to start off with if you get into Crypto is obviously Security this is quite alot to type so im going to direct you to an expert in this area who is also on Uptrennd. His name is Matthew Rosenquist you should check out his posts they are pretty Awesome if i must say so. Here is his link below so you can check it out yourself:

WALLETS
Once you have became familiar with Security aspects involved in dealing with Cryptocurrency you want to look at getting wallets to store your Cryptocurrency in, there is quite a few different ways in which you can do this, and there is thousands of different wallets out there for different blockchains, projects etc... I will just cover a few of the main ones that are the most popular and will go into more detail in another post that i will make up specifically for wallets alone. (always remember to write down your private keys for any wallets you have and do not store this on your device). If you have went through the security posts with Matthew above you will know why already.
Here is two of the popular wallets listed below to get you started.
https://www.coinbase.com/join/tait_yo ---- Coinbase being the most popular and usually the first wallet people open
https://www.myetherwallet.com/ ----------- My Ether Wallet(MEW) commonly used on the Ethereum blockchain and ERC-20 compatible
EXCHANGES
There is so many exchanges out there and there are new ones opening all the time, it seems pretty daunting when you first get into Cryptocurrency which one would be best for you. This all depends on your location/country you live in as there is different regulations regarding this, especially if you are in the US. Im in the UK so here is a list of a few exchanges i use:
https://www.binance.com/?ref=17035709
Binance being one good one
https://www.kucoin.com/?rcode=7RbQtH
Kucoin is pretty awesome aswell
http://www.bitmart.com/?r=98741
Bitmart i use at times aswell
https://etoro.tw/2HKFEa3
Etoro good for Crypto and stocks and no worries about wallets
Beaxy below is a new one ive just started using its only been live a few weeks and its been pretty good so far:
https://www.beaxy.com/registration?code=0F57EKTC6B
Why so many exchanges i use is probably a question you are wanting answered right??? Two main reasons why i dont use just one exchange are as follows
1: I never would suggest putting all your eggs in one basket as you never know what is around the next corner ie. exchanges going bankrupt, hacked exchanges and so on
2: You dont always get all the coins on one exchange as the coin you want might be availabe on one and not the other
SPENDING YOUR CRYPTOCURRENCY
Ive heard people say they wouldnt invest in cryptocurrency because there is no way of spending them, that is so far from the truth they are easily spendable in a variety of ways, alot of people dont realise this and its as simple as having a Coinbase Visa card which easily links to your main coinbase wallet and can be linked to your Bitcoin/bcash/Litecoin/Ethereum wallets which ever you prefer to spend from, doing this you can then go to any shop, garage, restaurant or even pay bills online with this
.https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.coinbase.coinbasecard&hl=en (also available on IOS)
I also have a Crypterium Card which is through Union Pay where you can cash out or spend anywhere that accepts Union Pay(my local banks atm in my case), Crypterium also has a variety of other features in their App available but i wil go into that in a seperate post as it will be quite detailed.
https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.crypterium&hl=en (also available on IOS)
Bear in mind im from the UK and exchanges and preferred wallets may vary depending on which country you are from etc so best looking into that before you enter into any exchanges or the likes but usually it will tell you upon registration if you are able to access said exchanges.
