Folktale: Why Thunder and Lightening live in the sky

Both Thunder and Lightning were once among the inhabitants of this planet. Lightning was Thunder's ram-like son, while Thunder was a mother sheep.

Lightning was a highly naughty individual who, in his rage, would go around setting fire to homes and limbing trees. Even on the farms, he caused harm and occasionally even killed people. When the Lightning did these things, his mother would scream at him to stop and stop causing harm, but the lightning did not give the slightest attention to what she said. He used to cause a tremendous amount of harm if he lost his temper.

Finally, the town had had enough and complained to the king about the damage caused by Lightning and the intolerable noise that always accompanied one of his outbursts from his mother.

Thunder and Lightning were commanded to leave the town and live alone in the distant bushes by the king, who was worried about the welfare of his people. That, however, did not really change anything. The ram would shout loudly and set fire to the woodland each time he lost his cool. There would occasionally be a spread of the forest fire that would burn the village homes.

The people once more complained to the king. He gathered all of his advisors to give him advice, and after much deliberation, they came up with a plan. Why not send Thunder and Lightning to live in the sky and fully exile them from the land. So the king issued this directive. The people chased Thunder and Lightning into the sky in the hopes that they would be unable to cause any more harm.

Since then, Lightning always starts fires and creates havoc when he is upset, and his mother keeps yelling at him to stop the destruction. Because of this, dazzling lightning is always visible in the sky, followed by booming thunder. Sometimes, even when the mother is exhausted or busy with other tasks, you can still see lightning generating flames, but you can't hear the mother's voice.

So short yet interesting hmm. I am wondering if the king had just executed them, then there won't be any warning that the rain is coming on a cloudless night. Till date though lightning still kills people, really naughty naughty boy.
