Marriage is quite tough. There are several things you have to be ready in the first place. 1. Money- The parents of your partner will of course accept you if you are rich. 2. Money again- If your partner is from a family of business owner, being rich will not make you look displeasing in front of their eyes. 3. Profession- You are beautiful and amazing to the bloodline of your partner espescially when you own PhDs and great credentials. Applicable when your partner is from a highly educated family, you must impress them. 4. Participate in their culture- if your partner is of different religion than you, lol you have to participate. In short, you have to be converted for real..... 5. If you want to skip above things and make marriage somehow easy, just take a look at your partner's family background. Or best.. don't get married at all.

I personally have a different view on that. Money and status doesn't play a role in love and marriage for most people. At least where I live. And also religion doesn't. It's common for Catholics and Evangelicals to marry. There are even Muslims marrying Catholics. It's getting more common here. Part of loving someone is accepting and supporting their dreams and believes. So you also support each other with your religion even if you don't believe in what your partner believes. ☺️
As much as I want to see the world in that way when it comes to marriage that's sadly not realistic for me. I'm referring to rationality.
Maybe we have different views on that because we grew up in different countries with different societies. For example I think the Philippines is a country with high inequality when it comes to income and wealth so money maybe plays a more important role... 🤔
No, I'm not viewing it based on my society or my country. If I would say it in context with the marriage here in Philippines, money is not the final determining factor of a lasting marriage but loyalty and understanding. But I'm viewing and speaking about marriage for everyone anywhere in this world and this is the rational view. I'm not generalizing either.
From a rational aspect I don't see why parents/family care much about the money, status or job of your partner. What would be your argument for that? If he/she is highly in debt or a gambling person it's clear that your family would be concerned, but otherwise...
If the person is unemployed or gambling when they are finally starting to live together, of course his/her partner's parents would negatively react to that. Unless the parents don't care at all about whoever their son/daughter is with. That doesn't really matter. This is why there are many relationships hidden from parents which eventually lead to moving out without letting the parents know.
Oh! I see! I understand your point!! Maybe it's different in cultures where people tend to stay with their parents after getting a job! 🤔 But for example my sister moved out as soon as she got her job. She maybe visits my parents once a month. I think it's common that after people get their jobs parents and the family has a decreasing relevance in peoples lifes I think. 🤔
Nah, Filipinos are family-oriented. We want to keep in touch with our extended families and the other half must be introduced to the family such as joining at gatherings together, birthday celebrations, fiestas and other occasions where family assemble together. Not only the parents will meet that person but also the entire relatives, haha.
Oooh! I see! 🤔 At least here at birthdays of parents many families will gather or at least during Christmas. 🤔😅 At one point you will be introduced I guess...
