Tiramisu (from the Italian language, spelled tiramisù, [ˌtiramiˈsu], meaning "pick me up" or "cheer me up") is a coffee-flavoured Italian dessert. It is made of ladyfingers (savoiardi) dipped in coffee, layered with a whipped mixture of eggs, sugar and mascarpone cheese, flavoured with cocoa. And I guess the pricey mascarpone cheese is the reason why tiramisu is expensive, although other ingredients are quite inexpensive. ... A layer of espresso-soaked sponge fingers, then another layer of rich mascarpone filling, a sprinkle of cocoa powder, then ladyfingers, mascarpone cheese and cocoa powder. That's all. ❤️
