The Importance of Being Contented.

The story of a Successful Business Man and the Poor Guard.

There is a Business Man he is the richer among the rich people. He has everything, money, big houses in different places, cars and has successful businesses in different countries. He's the kind of person who doesn't want to lose, he always wants to be on top. Even though he already has everything, he still feels something is missing in his heart, so he continues what he is doing so that he can find what his heart is missing.

In the company of a Business Man, there is a Guard who always greets him every time he enters the company, even if the Business Man ignores it or does not greets him back he still never gets tired of greeting him and the guard can really see the joy on his face.

The Business Man you will see that his life is luxurious, there are many guards to protect him, there is a secretary who is always next to him and all he has to do is sign papers, contracts and attend meetings. But you will not find in him the satisfaction of life.

The Guard works in the morning and evening, sleepless because of being a guard and without a break from being a food vendor. He has a family to support and two children to go to school. But you can't see in him the shortcomings or hardships in life because he always has a smile on his face.

One day the Business Man had a bad day because one of his businesses had a problem, while he was coming out of the lobby of his company, the Guard greeted him with "Good morning sir"

and the Business Man stopped, and he asked the guard "is there anything good this morning?"

he replied gaurd with a smile "Yes sir, there are many reasons for our morning to be good sir" and the Business Man calmed down and left.

While the Business Man was in the car, he thought about what happened earlier, he couldn't forget the smiling face of the Guard, and he asked himself in his mind "Why does he have a better day than me who is just a guard of my company? I have many things that he doesn't have "

And the next day the Business Man was about to enter the lobby of his company, he saw the Guard eating bread and water it seemed to be his breakfast, the Business Man did not realize that he walked towards the Guard and the guard was surprised at him and say good morning and bow slightly to show respect. The Business Man asked him, "what are you eating?"

the Guard replied "ah this is bread sir, I bought it earlier so I can have breakfast"

the Business Man seemed to feel sorry for the Guard and he told the guard to follow him and they went to the Business Man’s office, the Business Man ordered his personal assistant to deliver food inside the office for the guard and him and they ate together. While the guard was eating, the Business Man asked the Guard,

"Are you having a hard time with your job, especially in your life and have a family and a schooling child? Is your salary enough to support your daily living?"

the Guard replied

"No sir, my salary as a guard is small and not enough and I will admit that I have a hard time earning a living but all I know is that I and my family are happy even though we have many things that we don't have."

The Business Man asked again,

"Are you already happy with that life?"

And the Guard smiled and answered

"Yes Sir, I'm already happy and my family, because sir you don't need to have a luxurious life to be happy, you don't need to have a nice house for your family to be happy, you don't need to have a nice car to be called happy. You don't have to have delicious food all the time to make your children happy. Being happy should not depend on things in this world. Being happy should depend on yourself, and on the loved ones you have. So you can be happy even if you lack a lot, even if they have things you don't have, as long as you know how to be content with the life you have you will be really happy. Your contentment is the secret to being happy not the temporary things of the world".

When the Business Man heard what the guard said to him, it was as if all his questions had been answered and it was as if he had found what was missing in his heart and that was contentment.

It is very important to be content, even if there are many things you do not have but you are content with what you have and that is the key for you to be happy.
