Folding@home is 20 years old project that supports biomedical research. It is now the biggest computer on our planet with thousands of connected devices.
Folding@home is not based on BOINC platform and can not be run on a mobile phone. Apple, Linux or windows computers requires quick and easy software installation from here:

There are several teams that compensate team members with the cryptocurrency. One is such team is Banano.cc, which is on place 13 by contribution. BAN cryptocurrency is distributed daily after tasks completion with folding@home. Instructions to fold with Banano are here:

Please note that coins may not compensate electricity cost unless they substantially rise in price (which I hope for BAN). I consider this activity as a donation of time, electricity and resources to science. Folding at home can be run only when computer is utilized for other activities but I currently run it 24/7.
