All my phones and tablets have BOINC software installed and compute for science 24/7. By today, 401 Covid-19 tasks and 755 Cancer Markers tasks are returned to the World Community Grid (WCG).

Everyone can join biomolecular or other research by downloading BOINC directly from Google Play or Berkeley website. Or joining me with the link below:

One WCG task takes 15 hours to compute on average. A mobile phone of a tablet may have 2, 4 of 8 CPUs. It is possible to select number of CPUs to be utilized for computing, as well as power source, temperature limit (in case this is hitting in the bag), battery limit where computations stop.

I compute on all 8 CPUs while typing this post on a smartphone and 8 tasks are being computed at the same time. This means 8 tasks will be returned within about 15 hours.

This also means that 50'000 work units will require 6250 smartphones of tablets with 8 CPUs, working for about 15 hours!!! Not a big deal!
