The sun is very close to the horizon in the morning or evening,so the sun's rays fall diagonally on your eyes,so the sun's rays have to travel a long way from the day time (when the sun is up).As a result the purple and blue light becomes more diffused and nothing is left.Due to the large wavelength, yellow and red light can reach the earth. So the sky looks orange or red is sunrise or sunset.

However, the question may arise, why the sky looks more red then the sunrise or sunset??

The main reason for this is that the amount of dust and other elements in the afternoon air is high and the amount of dust in the morning air is relatively low.In fact,as the night deepens, the atmosphere gradually cools and in this cool environment dust and other elements floating in the air begin to settle down.As a result, the morning environment is clean and tidy. The red color of the morning looks a bit lighters as the scattering of sun rays is relatively less in this clean air.On the other hand,as the day progress, after the sunrise, the amount of dust in the air increase due to the intense light of the sun and humnan actively,as well as others elements spread around. As a result, more sunrise is scattered in the atmosphere during sunset. As a result, more red light can reach our eyes,so the westerns sky looks more red then the eastern morning sky.
