Arif Azad (born January 8, 1990) is a Bangladeshi writer. He is best known as the author of Paradoxical Sajid. [1] Arif Azad was selected as the Online Best Seller at Amar Ekushey Book Fair-2019.

Personal and educational life

Author Arif Azad was born on January 8, 1990 in Chittagong district. He passed secondary from Chittagong district school. After completing his higher secondary education from a government college, he was admitted to the Department of Statistics, Chittagong University and completed his higher education from here.

Literary life

This young writer started writing while he was in class XI. However, when his first book Paradoxical Sajid was published in Ekushey Book Fair in 2016, it caused a great stir. Since then, Arif Azad's other books have been published regularly. From the very beginning of his writing career, Arif Azad's books received a great response from the readers.

His personal picture and life

He does not share his personal photos on the internet, but he occasionally comes to book fairs, he meets some people, he does not take pictures with them. He shares his personal ideas on his Facebook group. He has participated in various national ulama conferences of the country.

He has set up a charity called "As Sadiq Foundation".

1) Paradoxical Sajid-1

Paradoxical Sajid was published in Ekushey Book Fair 2017. Sajid, the central character of the book, refutes the disbelief of his atheist friend in various conversations through various scientific arguments. And through these conversations, the author refutes many arguments of the unbelievers in the book. The book became very popular soon after its publication. It has also been translated into English and Assamese. It was the best-selling book at the 2016 Ekushey Book Fair.

2) Paradoxical Sajid-2

Paradoxical Sajid-2 was published in 2019 Ekushey Book Fair as a continuation of Sajid-1. All prints of the book were sold out on the first day of publication. The book sold 6,000 copies in just 3 days. However, due to an unforeseen error, the Bangla Academy stopped selling the book on the 3rd day.

3) Before the end of the day

Arif Azad's 4th original book 'Before the end of the day' published in 2020. In the book, the author Arif Azad explains from a religious point of view the simple, straightforward, logical, analytical solutions to the young minds and the ongoing questions in the society. The book was a surprise at this year's book fair before the end of the day.

4) Near Arj Ali

Gramey shattered the misconceptions of a self-taught atheist about Islam, and responded to critics of Islam.

Discussion and criticism

Writer Arif Azad has been discussed as well as criticized. "Arif Azad is a living beacon," said author Dr. Shamsul Arefin. Introducing Arif Azad, the Guardian publisher wrote, "He writes with faith, shattering the mirror of disbelief." On the other hand, some free-spirited and scientific blogs have criticized Arif Azad. Blogging site Bijnanyatra claims that Arif Azad has misinterpreted evolution in his Sajid series of books.
