Happy New Year everyone!!! New Year's tradition in different countries! It's a magic wand! " Surovachka" You'll see these magic wands in the market after Christmas, oh yes! Kids love having these sticks. They use "Surovachka" to hit the back of their loved ones and sing a song. A song for prosperity, good health, and harvest throughout the year. Once done with singing, they would give them money in return. The more you hit somebody's back, the money you get lol These sticks are wrapped with wool, decorated with popcorns, baked bread, chocolates, bell, Santa's, or anything that you can find at home. How about in the Philippines? When my siblings were little, they told us to jump as higher as you can, so you can grow taller haha. We all did. Sino nabiktima nito? hahaha, Oldies wear polka dots (pattern of dots) circles meaning money. (coins) to attract prosperity and abundance of $$. We also collect 12 or 13 different kinds of fruits, they need to be round. Oh yes, everyone is collecting and buying fruits. And you are not allowed to eat them until New year hahaha. We make lots of noise in the house, (using pans, torotot (trumpet) fireworks ) to chase away the bad spirit in the house lol So many traditions and superstitions! Whether you believe it or not. It's always fun to do this with your loved ones :) Do you have similar traditions? Galet galet muna tayo ngayon (kanya kanyang agenda muna hehe) after New year makabawi na tayo sa kabusyhan :) Happy New Year, dear friends. I wish you lots of love, prosperity, and good health in 2022 and the coming years! #photography #Newyear2022 #pilipinas #throwbackphoto
