Hello lovely people! I'm losing the track of time and days lol. Wuz up, everyone? Still in the Christmas mood? Let me share something interesting today :) On The 24th of December, Mamo would prepare all kinds of traditional food. This bread is one of them, bread with symbols on it. Here, you can see a cross in the middle, it signifies blessings to your belongings or the things that are close to your heart. There were dogs, sheep, cats, and a house etc. We also don't eat meat on this day, a reflection day for those who had nothing on their table. Mamo baked another bread, with hidden surprises inside. There was bud from a tree, a coin, a bean, and a button inside the bread. She would divide the bread into parts and share it with everyone. Surpresa kung ano ang makukuha mo :) The button symbolizes being skillful and successful in your work. A coin is a symbol of prosperity and wealth, the branch from a tree means good health, a bean to have a good harvest for the whole year around. I think everyone likes to pick the coin lol Finding the bud is the hardest part because it's tiny. This year I got the coin hehe. I'll be rich nyahaha. wow nice. cool tradition. we dont eat meat on 24 and 25 too. but for dec 24, they dont eat meat because they say if you dont eat on that day yo will see a golden pig. for 25, meat means badluck. so we only eat bread or lentils for good luck.
parang same den halos ang tradition nila sila naman parang sacrifice lang ng 1 day tapos ang iba may 40 days fasting sila no dairy prodcuts etc
kya nga eh. dto bawal ang any meat pati sa jan 1, (pero pamahiin lang din nman) pero sa atin manok/ducks kc bka maghirap sa buong taon ayun sa chinese pamahiin hehee.

We don't have same tradition but I'm familiar about that, I think I watch it somewhere, those symbolism. New year's mood na sis haha

Ang creative naman at ang saya ng ganyang bread hihi. Nabusog ka na natuwa ka pa. Pinaka bet ko yung cross. Kung may blessings ka na kay papa God eh di damay damay na lahat yung health, wealth, etc. Pero nakakatuwa yung nakuha mong surpresa hihi. Try mo pa din magbalik loob sa nft. Baka it's a sign hihi.
