Organic compound:::: As already mentioned are obtained from natural sources and are Also prepared by synthesis in the laboratories....the natural sources of these substance may be traced to either the plant or animal kingdom.. Now we will know that it's sources::

Plant:: Sugars,starchs,cellulose,citric acid,oxalic acid, tartaric acid,indigo,oils,vitamins..

Animals:::: Fats, proteins,urea,uric acid,vitamins, hormones. Etc...

Wood distillations:::: Acetic acid, methyl alcohol,and acetone.. Coal tar distillation:::: Benzene, toluene, napthalene, carbolic acid, cresols, pyridine,dyes, perfumes,drugs etc..

Natural gas and petroleum distillation:::: Alkanes and their derivatives,such as methyl chloride,chloroform, methyl alcohol, ethyl alcohol, Ally chloride, benzene, toluene.. Fermentation processes:::: Ethyl alcohol,amyl alcohol,acetic acid,,etc. About 40 years back,the main sources of organic compound were the precesses of fermentation and wood distillation.. while fewer compounds are derived FROM coal and petroleum....and low temperature cooking technique of coal. Fermentation processes are still in used,,, wood distillation almost obsolete and At the present time the vast majority of the organic compound are obtained by synthetic methods. As i remember a little about fermentation it may be uses for preservation and we can also produce alcoholic drinks by this process.
