An 8-year old girl, Diana Bulus, who lost her mother and sibling to suspected Fulani militias invasion in Gora Gan, Zangon Kataf local government area of Kaduna State has lamented the loss of her family.
Diana Bulus, who shared her experiences said on 20th July 2020, suspected Fulani militias invaded her village and killed 11 people.
She explained that the tragedy occurred while she was at the local Market of the community selling Groundnut in the evening.
Speaking from Mercy’s IDP Camp in Zonkwa, Zangon Kataf local government area, Diana said the sound of guns and the killings in the village still hunts her till date.
In her personal account, the child said “I just heard a loud bang of gunshots and people all over the community were running shouting Fulani has invaded our village, calling on everybody to run away. I thought of running to our house but l decided to follow the people as they were running towards a different direction.
“If I start explaining how I managed to escape unhurt, I keep on thanking God Almighty for protecting me. When I recall the untimely death of my mother and our last born it makes me worried, I have no answer as to what really happened that very day.
“It really pains me if I imagine I can no longer see my mother and the last born who I always work and play together.”
Daina Bulus explained that she returned home the following morning after the sporadic shooting the previous evening only to see her mother and her sibling dead and their corpses laying down on the cemetery.
She said the havoc that was wrecked on her community by Fulani herdsmen would continue to hunt her heart for a long time.
The 8-year-old said she would wish to go back to her village and continue her school, saying that life would be miserable without her mother and her younger brother.
