Children, childhood, education are the most important pillars of a developed nation. But unfortunately one of the most neglected issues for us is child education. In fact, 'children are the future leaders of the nation', 'education is the backbone of the nation' - these are just words now.
Will the nation's backbone be strengthened through education? We are breaking the backbone of education day after day without realizing it. It is not clear why this is happening despite having so many academics, highly educated people. Everyone said orally that children are the future of the nation.
Therefore, a happy and prosperous society and country will be created only if we can build them through proper care. This will reduce all immoral activities. But this sentence uttered we ourselves do not believe or cannot do.
At present in our country children's education is divided into 11 parts. This trend is creating inequality among the next generation. Mother, mother tongue and motherland are matters of absolute respect to all.
This stalemate in children's education is an obstacle to knowing the history, tradition and culture of the mother tongue and motherland. Islam describes ‘the paradise of the child under the feet of the mother’. Love of homeland is part of faith. This is our Bangladesh in return for the sacrifices of three million martyrs and countless mothers and sisters. Qaumi makes real religious scholars in education.
Their role in the spread of happiness, peace and Islam in the hereafter is undeniable. It is not clear to what extent the next generation will implement the true faith education without knowing or neglecting the motherland, the mother tongue. On the other hand, English medium educational institutions do not give much importance to the celebration of national music, national day and special days.
Children do not develop knowledge of the history, tradition and culture of the country and their love for the motherland and mother tongue does not grow. Growing up, without love for oneself, one does not develop compassion for the society and the environment. By learning in foreign ideologies, they grow up to be self-centered.
Today, the image of the miserable condition of the education sector has come to light in the fast of the ibtedayi teachers. At present, with a salary of Rs 2,500, it is difficult for teachers to understand how love can grow in children. Kindergarten, on the other hand, imposes books and notebooks outside of child psychology. The Hon'ble High Court has banned the carrying of bags weighing more than 10 per cent of the body weight of children. But who cares.
Children are reading more and more books. Uneducated, highly educated people are seen to enjoy this ruthless joy. This joy reminds me of frogs and baby games. Slapping a frog is as much a child's joy as it is a child's pain.
The only educational institution for the children of the common man is the primary school which is in various adverse conditions including the teacher crisis. The important ministry for children's education in our country is largely neglected. All the ministries including Home, Finance, Establishment, Education are well-liked by all. Cadre services of all ministries including cows, goats, ducks and chickens exist.
The Ministry of Primary and Mass Education, the only huge staff, does not have their own cadre service. For this reason, meritorious people are not interested in working in the Ministry of Children or Primary and Mass Education. The same curriculum and different books of different genres should be prescribed for all children. It is important to create a cadre service of the Ministry of Primary and Mass Education to make the meritorious interested in primary education.
The treasure of the absolute aspiration of every child family. All mothers, rich and poor alike, try to be vigilant in the full development of the baby during pregnancy. Family members also prevent the mother from working hard in an effort to make the birth healthy, beautiful and normal.
Engaged in special care including nutritious food. Nowadays most mothers are seen to seek medical advice. With the birth of the child, the whole house became illuminated by the heavenly light. The tide of joy flows in the family. The main task of all family members is to take care of the child.
Everyone's eyes are on the new guest of the family. The child expresses joy, sorrow, pain and needs through his laughter and tears. The mother can easily understand the child's feelings. The child develops a close relationship with the mother. A little hug from the mother reminds the child of endless joy and contentment. In the midst of this joy, the mother forgets the boundless sorrow, pain and suffering of her pregnancy. The mother's caress, the affection of the family, everything has been fading since the child's entry into education. In childhood, children become acquainted with the people of the dual entity around them. It is difficult for them to understand which is true.
There is no deception before or after the beginning of education. Does anyone know the answer? The bigger question is that in the name of education, children are giving up their lives and minds, what is the so-called education giving? Are these educated children able to draw a line between morality and immorality? Being able to show proper respect and love towards parents and elders? Is the happiness and sorrow of the members of the society touching them? Probably everyone knows the answers. The answers are being published in our daily life. Which is not at all auspicious for our future.
Today it is necessary to teach the child the moral ideal. We have been reading various policy sentences since childhood. ‘Always speak the truth’, ‘Leave evil company’, ‘Don’t throw rubbish wherever you are’. How much of these sentences we have actually been able to contain is really a matter of concern.
Education needs to be integrated with life through practical work, not just oral moral education. .A small example, for example, is the practice of protecting the environment by developing the habit of regularly throwing paper waste in certain baskets at school and at home.
The teacher should have a keen eye for good work, weekly recognition for honesty, awarding, meeting with classmates, respect for the upper class students, affection etc. If a student does not bring a tiffin or if there is a lack of educational materials, everyone should work together to make up for it, other ethical activities such as salutations, etiquette, change of behavior, cultural activities, debates, competitions, sports, textbooks as well as magazines and various knowledgeMust practice reading rich books. As the child grows older, he needs to know the environment. Knowing about parents, relatives, name of the area, being able to name everything in the environment.
Gradually the child should be given a book with pictures of different colors. As well as reciting rhymes, letting the mind draw with colors. We have to start forming the habit of writing through drawing. But what are we doing instead? We are giving cruel pain in the name of education to our beloved daughters. At the beginning of the child's education, the uneducated, semi-educated and highly educated all at the same time try to teach the child Bengali and English alphabet.
By not considering the child's mental capacity, his interest is being made unimportant. As a result, the child's learning has become unhappy for him today. In an attempt to get admission in prestigious schools, the child has to learn the knowledge, age, taste and ability of the adult by sacrificing the heavenly joy of his childhood, which is an additional burden for him. Children can memorize many big difficult words like parrots. But the child has no knowledge or idea about the content.
Parents are fascinated by the ignorance of children. Just reading all day. All the entertainment including morning-afternoon sun watching, sports, co-curricular activities takes leave from the life of the child. Reading at home in the morning, reading at school, reading in coaching classes, just reading at night and writing became a daily routine. Our children are just reading by giving up comfort, entertainment, sports. It is time to think about how much this study is developing the child, how much it is benefiting the society, what it is giving to the country.
The argument for teaching children outside of child psychology is that if education is not stressed at this age, it will be difficult to get used to growing up. There is a set time for each task. The duration of breastfeeding is fixed as well as the time of five daily prayers, the age of first class admission, the age of giving SSC examination, the age of employment.
But the issue of age for children's education is being looked down upon. It is a lame argument that giving test from the first class will develop the child's test habits or will reduce the fear of test. The child's happy childhood is lost in the pain of the test. Children's sports, cultural practices, reading stories, poems, rhyme books, acquiring knowledge through historical places travel, practical education including moral education are all lost today. After waking up in the morning, reading, school, coaching is like a child's life. Highly educated, illiterate people are united in the field of exams. The child must pass well.
This competition is enriched by the trade of sweet traders after the publication of test results including coaching, notes, guides. Tests for children are a lot like hammer treatments. If the patient is given medicine without seeing or hearing the symptoms without a thorough examination of the body, there is a risk of danger to the patient. Some of the questions that are limited in our examination system can be passed well if written in the notebook.
But the ability to speak, acquire moral education, read books outside the textbook, participate in cultural activities and sports, including the ability to become an ideal citizen of the future. This pass brings uncomfortable environment in the national life.
On the other hand, the child's childhood has been ruined. An appropriate learning environment should be created through the standard assessment method without endangering the child's childhood. Laughter, happiness, joy will be the life of the child. The education of the child should be given according to the age, taste and ability.
The pain of the ongoing education system on the child is having a more adverse effect on the society than the child marriage. Certain boys, girls or their families are affected by child marriage. But in the pain of child education, the child is losing the joy of childhood. As a result of keeping children away from knowledge based education, the whole nation including children and families are being harmed.
The next generation is developing with a lot of disability knowledge. For the beautiful life and future of the child, the concerned people including the government should come forward immediately. Let the idea of making the endangered childhood of a child happy spread among everyone.
