Its crazy how a substantial proportion of netizens out here is earning a living out of pure creativity, content creation and entertainment. They say nowadays, you have to put your papers aside and hit the streets like a drop out. It remains a mystery how we will explain to our kids that education is the key to success when major companies and prestigious holdings in the world are owned by people who barely went to school. Is it just me or does anyone else wonder why we had to waste so much money in school for this degree when the real learning is actually in the streets? Degrees that have only left us hopeless and depressed, desperate for unpaid internships just to keep ourselves busy, hand to mouth. People who look at religion as slavery, I wonder what they have to say about education......
Explain to me like a two year old why we had to waste more or so twelve years in elementary school all the way to the university, straining day and night for grades that we believed were the bridge to a successful life, so what are you doing with your clean A in roysambu with only a YouTube channel , online writing, truck driving, photography, or are you writing music...I feel like we would have saved so many years of our life and resources if only we learnt how to read and write and then started building talent at a younger age....am not being a pessimist with only a smartphone and papers in my drawer, Jobless and nearly hopeless, am just saying, our current state of the economy makes me feel wasted as educated as I am. Actually looking to find a place as a teacher of English or anything linguistics related. The irony , being a teacher contradicts my story?? I know right.. education doesn't pay either way.
Talk of being street smart and all that, we both know they who have ideas have no capital, and those who have the funds are rigmarole...why?..they failed or did not go to school at all... distressful times these are..To add salt to the injury, Covid 19 happened, let us not even address that... today
CBC might change the world,let your kids go to school, but enlighten them on the state of affairs.
