Lebanon's failure to overcome the crisis!

I've been talking about Lebanon in my recent articles. I preferred to wait a longer period of time in order to be able to watch carefully what is happening in this wonderful country. Many things have happened in the meantime, but the results are almost nil, which makes the country to continue on a downhill train and go even deeper into the crisis. Following the resignation of the government, the Lebanese political forces appointed Mustapha Adib on August 31, 2020, as the most suitable person to form a new government, focused on comprehensive reforms and an efficient process to stabilize the country. However, Mustapha Adib decided to withdraw from his appointment, even before forming a new government, despite the strongest demands of the population for the adoption of reforms. Adib did not provide details about his withdrawal. In my opinion, the main problem is represented by the Shiite parties that control Lebanon, through the Ministry of Finance. Traditionally, these parties were responsible for appointing ministers. Mustapha Adib is a professional with a diplomatic career, being Lebanon's ambassador to Germany. Since his appointment, Adib has made it clear that he will immediately implement new reforms and seek financial assistance from the International Monetary Fund. Adib is a Sunni Muslim and appears to have been hit by a strong opposition from the Shiite bloc in the Lebanese Parliament. Now, I believe that Adib's withdrawal is not a surprise given the above, even if he was supported by the parliamentary majority, including French President, Emmanuel Macron. But Shiite parties, the Amal movement and Hezbollah, still control the Lebanese politics and economy. Because of this influence, which also spills over the security and finance sectors, accentuated by the lack of unity of the Sunni bloc, Adib's mission failed before it began. Shiite groups put their own interests above the economic development of the country and the exit of the economy. https://youtu.be/1WRhm7eg-4Y Under these conditions, as I said recently, the only way for Lebanon to evolve is international pressure and the adoption of concrete measures by the international community, namely the freezing of bank accounts / foreign assets of Lebanese politicians, because otherwise no one from the interior of the country would not make concessions.  My successful faucets!
