Where is Your Quiet Place ?
Where do you run to when life is pressing in from all sides ? Where do you hide when it all just feels like too much and you have nothing left to give ?
You know the feeling. You don’t have a sane thought left in your head and you feel like a rocket on a launchpad or you may feel like curling up in a corner in the fetal position.
Where do you go to clear your head and find time to reflect and meditate ? Where do you go to be alone with your thoughts ?
Many shy away from these moments because they don’t want to be alone with their thoughts and to deal with their inner being. Thoughts can be drowned out with music , conversations and many other distractions.
When we refuse to deal with our inner self the more it reflects negatively on our outer self.
The beauty of a quiet place is that it can be anywhere we can think and reflect without distraction.
My favorite quiet place is to go for a long walk in the woods and find a fallen log where I can sit and meditate with only the sounds of nature around me. My thoughts become clear as I observe the wildlife who’s only thought is in the moment.
Your quiet place may be driving home from work with the radio off immersed in your own thoughts. Your quiet place may be laying in bed with the covers pulled up over your head.
Look for moments in the day when you can mindfully be alone with your own thoughts. These are the moments when your mind and body are in tune.
So I ask you , where is your quiet place ?
