I think the power of influence has caused a lot of people to be misled. Somehow we’ve made influence the foundation for leadership, all because we fail to understand the two are not the same.

Influence is based on the consistency of (performance).

Leadership is based on the consistency of (preparation).

Influential people who lack the ability to lead, can only show you how good they are. But the right influential leader, will guide you, and help you to progress, in what they’ve been called to do. It’s okay to be inspired by someone, just keep in mind progress is a journey, and the right “compass” (leader) is essential.
