Sovereignty is used as a lame excuse

In today's globalized world, interdependence is the right word to discuss relationships of States. Sovereignty is there as fundamental element of state. Sovereignty is both a political practice and a legal concept entailing the recognised equality and supreme authority and autonomy of territorially bound states in the international system.

Notwithstanding, this concept which is not concrete like the other 3 elements i.e. land, people and government. Many idealists, emotionally weak and practically failed abuse this concept and blame foreigner powers and hide other realities like economic performance and educational accomplishments.

It is through sovereignty that states manage their international arrangements. But due to International Law and International Relations, states can't be fully sovereign now.

Over time, due to the growth of civil society and the expansion of international organizations has led to a condition of pooled sovereignty for many states as states have transferred certain powers from national governments to international institutions, such as the UN, EU, which in turn exert a higher degree of influence on sovereign states. Similarly bilateral trade and agreements also make sovereignty dilute in many ways.
