Every day, new building projects are launched in every part of the world, and each has aims grander than the other. Since humans are obsessed with the idea of breaking records, it is quite difficult to define the tallest buildings in the world.

These buildings are a living testimony to what architecture and engineering have attained, but they also emphasize the drive humans have for pushing the limits of possibilities. 5. LOTTE WORLD TOWER – 555 METERS

The Lotte World Tower is the pride of South Korea. This enormous building took 13 years before it was completed and inaugurated in 2017. This building has about 123 floors and multiple observatory decks.

A remarkable fact about the Lotte World Tower is that the design of this building is such that it can defy the impacts of an earthquake that measures 9 on the Richter scale.

4. PING AN FINANCE TOWER – 599 METRES

This titanic building is another gem from China, located in Shenzhen. It holds the Ping An Insurance firm office. Even though it was inaugurated in 2015, it still underwent an extensive construction phase until 2017.

The tower hosts various facilities such as conference centers, hotel rooms, and retail stores. The earlier aim was to build the tallest building in the country. Since a much higher tower would impede airplanes, construction was stopped after 115 floors. The observation deck is located on the 116th floor.

3. MAKKAH ROYAL CLOCK TOWER – 601 METRES

This is no doubt one of the tallest buildings in Saudi Arabia, located in the holy city of Mecca. It is positioned very close to the famous Grand Mosque. This building took around 7 years of construction before it was completed in 2011 and was opened to the general public.

Also, the building has becomes an observatory tower during the month of Ramzan. The most fascinating element of this 601 metres tall skyscraper is its clock, which can been seen from a distance of 30 kilometers!

2. SHANGHAI TOWER – 632 METERS

Among the countless other achievements of China, Shanghai Tower is a recent one. Inaugurated in 2014, it is the tallest building in China. Construction of this enormous building took 8 years, including a whopping 4.2 billion dollars.

There are around 258 rooms in the hotel situated in Shanghai Tower. Shanghai Tower also has the world’s highest observatory deck. And since the entire Shanghai skyline is visible from its deck; it's probably no doubt the best view in China.

If you know anything about Dubai, this shouldn't be something new to you. Along with being the tallest building in Dubai, Burj Khalifa is the world’s official tallest building, since 2010. With a height of 828 metres, it has about 163 floors, and houses roughly 30,000 people.

The Burj Khalifa houses hotels and shopping malls, including an artificial lake as well! The tower has received many awards and recognition from all areas of the world of architecture.
