Humility pathway to grace
“But He gives more grace. Therefore He says: God resists the proud, but gives grace to the humble" (James 4:6).
Humility is the fountain from where heavenly blessings flow. When humility is in place the doors of help are easily open for grace and mercy to flow unto one. Pride closes the door of heaven, paralyses the hand of God and withholds the heaven from releasing grace. Until pride is completely buried from our lives grace cannot easily flow. Men and women who carried grace like Esther and Paul were very humble in their heart and in their relationship with others. The degree of our humility determines the degree of grace we attract from God. Humility however, is not timidity, or stupidity. Humility is lowliness of heart in relation to others and to God. Humble people are teachable, grateful, appreciative and serviceable. They are not arrogant or boastful. This is the price of carrying great grace. Humble people are grace carriers.
To experience the grace of God one must be devoid of pride, arrogance, boasting, high-mindedness and looking down on others. Humility is absence of pride and lowliness of heart. It is a correct estimation of oneself looking at our history and background. God is attracted to the humble in heart, in words, actions and relationship with others but God resists the proud. It is not a light thing for God to resist a man. When fellow men are resisting one, one could run to God, but when God is resisting a man where will the person run to? Pride is indeed a terrible thing. Men like king Saul, first king of Israel, Pharaoh, Herod, and Nebuchadnezzar could not experience the mercy of God because of the stubbornness and arrogance of their heart.
Apostle Paul experienced tremendous grace because of humility. Because of the multitude of signs, wonders, mighty results and revelations in the ministry of Paul, God gave Him a thorn in his flesh. This torn which we don’t know what it was kept him humble before God. In the state of humility, Apostle Paul experienced the grace with which he did all the exploits for the kingdom. Humility brings grace for exploits, performance and achievement. To experience the grace we must remain humble before men and before God.
Humility is the conductor of divine grace for exploits.
