Great is thy faithfulness

"Thy faithfulness is unto all generations: thou hast established the earth and it abideth” (Psalms 119:90).

How do we measure the faithfulness of God? God’s faithfulness is not in doubt at any time; but sometimes as believers, our situation may put doubt in our minds if actually God is faithful. It is important to note that God’s faithfulness is not measured by how much money we can find in our account without owing any debt, it is not to be measured by how successful and healthy we are.

The faithfulness of God is not a guarantee that one cannot be a victim of social circumstances. God has given us the wisdom to plan ourselves, think of our welfare and security. God may choose to intervene in our circumstances or not, it does not affect his faithfulness. In this case, it sounds right to say that God is faithful in the context of all of these life events, but in actuality to be faithful means that you keep your promises. And that is where the problem lies. We tie God's faithfulness (His keeping His promises) to things that He never promised.

The Bible is consistent in its claim that God is faithful as in 2 Thessalonians 3:3 The Lord is faithful, who will establish you and guard you from the evil one. 1 John 1:9 If we confess our sins, he is faithful and just and will forgive us our sins and purify us from all unrighteousness.

God is faithful, and we are called to walk by faith and not by sight. (2 Cor. 5:7). Despite the evolving and unstable seasons that life brings, we are called to trust God. Through times of joy and tribulation, God’s faithfulness remains consistent and steadfast. Life can be hard, challenging, and unfair. When things do not go according to our plans, we become frantic, but God remains faithful.

Sing with me: “Great is thy faithfulness, great is thy faithfulness, Morning by morning new mercies I see. All I have needed thy hand has provided. Great is thy faithfulness Lord unto me”.

Psalms 89:8 O LORD God of hosts, who is a strong LORD like unto thee? or to thy faithfulness round about thee?

*CONTROLLING THOUGHT:*

God keeps His promises at all times.

*PRAYER:*

Lord help me not to question your faithfulness in adverse circumstances.
