Chapter Complete: Junior High Life (Sumarized)
After 4 years of studying in Junior High. So many ups and downs, mistakes that are made, achievements that are achieved, and so much more... And now that I've completed my chapter, I'm going to start a new one: my Senior High life.
So I'll give you guys an overview of how my Junior High experience is (mostly in Grade 10) and what my plans are for the next school year this coming August.
Junior High Experience: Summarized
I've never been more happy to finally end my JHS chapter, but I promised not to forget it. It was a great experience with, of course, some unforgettable moments
Grade 7 (S.Y. 2019-2020)
Back when I was in 7th grade, I was away from my family to study at a Science school. Things went down after I realized it would be such a sad moment to leave them for a long time, but I thank God I have my sister and my grandparents, as well as my new friends and classmates, who comfort me while I am at the new place.

It was such a good experience while it lasted.
Then, in March 2020, things went crazy when the COVID-19 pandemic came. No school, no way of getting out—just stuck at home. Thankfully, the government opened schools a few months later, but in a different learning delivery—modular classes.
Grade 8 (S.Y. 2020-2021)
Nothing really happened around that time. Except that I almost failed one subject, which almost got me kicked out. With the advice my parents gave me, I recovered. Studying at home was way harder than face-to-face. But with the help of the internet, studying became easy, as well as making homework.
Then, in August 2021, me and my sister returned to my hometown when the port was reopened for travelers. Read the blog post about it here.
Grade 9 (S.Y. 2021-2022)
I transferred to a different school, and it takes me 30 minutes to get there on a commute.
Yes, it's far, but it's the only school that has the strand, which is STEM, that I'm taking in the future. It was still in modular classes until around December, when students that were invited could go to school for the pilot face-to-face. I asked my teacher if I could participate, but I wasn't allowed, mainly because I'm far away.
That time, I was elected as a class president, and I only monitored my classmates on our group chat.
And on recognition day/closing remarks, I was chosen to give a welcome speech. Surprisingly, without a plan or research for a speech, I did an impromptu speech in English, and it turned out great! I was afraid of public speaking at that time, but that fear was gone when I stood in front. That was also my first time stepping foot on the school premises, so I wasn't familiar with the place.
Grade 10 (S.Y. 2022-2023)
This school year was my most enjoyable year of all! It was now fully face-to-face. I met several classmates, became friends with them, and was focused on studying more.
I joined the school's journalism program out of curiosity and became a news writer. I was selected with my fellow journalists to write news about school events, but I only remember writing three stories, mainly about the school's sports festival. A few months later, there was no news about my most-awaited event, the Press Conference at District level, or new events to cover.
I was straight 'With Honor' student, with an average grade of 94.
I use Excel for copying my grades.
It was great to see how my efforts are paying off. And I'm glad how it turned out. I'm happy for my achievements, which made my family's efforts worth the time.
Now that we had become classmates, we took a group photo.
It was a fun ride...
These 4 years have been well spent, and in the midst of the pandemic, I've learned lots of things along the way. I put my fears aside and achieved what I wanted to do. There's more to come in the coming years, but I'm glad this chapter has finally ended with great things.
Thanks for reading!
Next time, I'll write about grades and how my parents thinks about it, and why grades is just a 'number' to some.
