What if I told you there is a group of people that are pushing their comfort zones and getting strangers to do the same?

Welcome to...

The Founders of Yes Theory

Meet the four founders of Yes Theory,

  • Thomas Brag from France

  • Matt Dajer from New York

  • Ammar Kandil from Egypt

  • Derin Emre from Turkey

So how did four students from around the world meet?

Originally strangers, these four individuals met while they all simultaneously moved into a small one bedroom apartment in Montreal. Thomas and Matt came up with the idea of creating 30 videos in 30 days. All while challenging themselves to go outside of their comfort zone. Ammar happened to be in the apartment as well, and Derin had a background in film and was pushed to go help.

Project 30 - The Beginnings

Climbing atop an abandoned building was one of their early challenges

Fresh out of university and looking to push themselves out into the world.

These four were able to push their limits and try new things once per day for 30 days.

Some of these challenges would include the following

  • Selling art to an Art Gallery

  • Eating bull testicles and creepy insects

  • Getting invited to a strangers wedding

  • How to raise money for charity in 24 hours

  • Having your ears pierced and body hair waxed

  • Meeting the mayor and getting on the daily show

  • Creating a rap video and trying figure skating

These are some of the things they attempted and accomplished in their first 30 days. This would soon create a unique bond and create the foundation of what their YouTube channel would be about.

After successfully meeting the Prime Minister of Canada Justin Trudeau and also creating a viral video that garnered national media attention. These four knew they had a recipe for success and decided to take the next step in their YouTube career.

Moving to Venice

Yes Theory's house in Venice, California

Waking up to a message one day asking if you and your new best friends want to move to Venice Beach and continue to make videos?

Yes please!

With a new found budget the four would move to Venice Beach California and continue to find new ways to push themselves and strangers alike.

With a new video budget and a thrive to find new adventures, Yes Theory accommodates their ever growing community by inviting aspiring film makers and You Tuber's to join them in the house. This creates a positive community in which they quickly begin to expand by collaborating with ours with like minded goals.

Some examples of how they have not only helped each other, but others as well are as follows:

Final Thoughts...

Quite the positive impact they have had fulfilling their own aspirations while simultaneously helping strangers fulfil theirs.

They currently boast a healthy 5 million subscribers on their YouTube channel which is quite impressive if you take the plunge and follow the journey of their trials and tribulations.

Now after you get sucked into the rabbit hole of Yes Theory and binge watch all their episodes in 24-48 hours or with however much you have watched.

What takeaways can you get from this and can you draw any parallels between their humble beginnings and other communities striving to reach a broader audience while having positive impact on the people who wish to engage?
