Thousands of people from different parts of the country, irrespective of religion and caste, come to Sylhet every day to visit the shrine of Hazrat Shahjalal (RA). Many call Sylhet a holy land because of Shahjalal's touch. Hazrat Shahjalal (Rah :) is a famous saint and saint. He is called Olikul Shiromani. Islam spread in the Sylhet region through him.
Raja Gauragobind's persecution of the first Muslim Sheikh Burhan Uddin of Sylhet and the arrival of Hazrat Shahjalal (ra) and his traveling companion 360 Auliya in Sylhet is a significant event in history. There is a pond to the north of Shahjalal's shrine. There are innumerable carrot fish in this pond. These fish are considered sacred by the visitors and given to small fish farms. Carrot fish floating in the pond gives joy to the visitors.
