Mental Health of Kids & Teenagers

Mental health is often considered as a ignorable matter specially in Bangladesh. Teenage is a very important period of human life. Teenagers often suffer from a lot of emotionally challanging situations. But they always cannot find someone to express their feeling fully. As a result they just try to move on without curing the problem. This leaves a scar of the trauma they suffered mentally and makes them even more vulnerable.

Whenever someone talks about their mental situation, it is just considered as drama or a way to seek attention. People need to realize that not everyone tends to seek attention by acting weak. Seniors or parents sometimes listen to their childrens' problems and uses one remedy for all problems. That is "this is nothing. We have faced much more challanging situations in our lives. Forget about it". They need to understand that forgetting or letting go is not the solution to everything. When a person is on a verge of mental breakdown, even the smallest actions of other people can hurt them very badly.

These negative impacts on a teenager often makes them very depressed and anxious. If the boy/girl is not mentally strong enough, it might even lead to suicide.

So, if someone comes to you to talk about their feelings, do not make fun of them. listen to them. Even if you can't help them just be there by his/her side. It will help them gain strength.
