Ed Gein: A Serial Killer

The Texas Chainsaw Massacre was inspired by the macabre and horrific acts of Ed Gein. He grew up in an isolated area of Wisconsin. He has an abusive and alcoholic father and a domineering mother who instilled in her son the pathological fear of both women and sex. When his family (father, mother and his brother) died on a 5 year period he was left alon on their family farm. He surround parts of the house turning it into a shrine to his mother. The local police arrive at the farm following a tip regarding on a missing hardware store owner Worden. They discovered the corpse of Worden hanging upside down from the rafters. Their search of the property revealed such hall of horrors. Body parts that turned into house hold items, such as household items such as chairs, bowls, faces used as wall hangings and a vest made up of a human torso. Many of these gruesome items were from the already dead bodies that Gein stolen from their graves, but he had already murdered a woman in addition to worden. He claimed that he was using the body parts to asemble his dead mother. Gein was diagnosed with schizophrenia and declared unfit for trial. He spent the rest of her life on a mental hospital.
