Welcome to the Sunday Music!

Imagine a word at peace..

In these troubled times, it seemed appropriate to me to propose a song that is in a way a hymn to peace. John Lennon with the help of Yoko Ono wrote this song inspired by the hope of seeing one day a world at peace. For those who know a little about his career with the Beatles and after, alone or with Yoko, he had already sent a strong message about peace with the song: "Give Peace A Chance". "Imagine" was released in the United States on October 11, 1971 while the country was at war with Vietnam. The song is inspired by some of Yoko Ono's poems and evokes a world without religion, without war and without borders, with humanity as the only nationality.

For the record, John Lennon founded The Beatles in 1957, the famous British musical quartet from Liverpool, England. The Beatles are composed of John Lennon, Paul McCartney, George Harrison and Ringo Starr. They revolutionized the history of music in the late 1960s, and wrote some of the most beautiful songs to this day. I think everyone has heard about the Beatles, and is familiar with some of their songs. John Lennon's Imagine has also been around the world.

As bonus..

Here the Fab 4 (The Beatles) performed "Don't Let Me Down" in their last public performance on the roof of their Apple Corps headquarters on January 30, 1969. The Beatles broke up the following year.

Another legend of the English rock, of the blues also mainly, Eric Clapton. Eric, who had strong links with The Beatles and particularly with George Harrison. Eric Clapton plays here live his song "Wonderful Tonight", a beautiful ballad and love song.

Clapton played for a while with the Yardbirds in 1963 before leaving to play with John Mayall & the Bluesbreakers in 1965. But it is probably in 1966 with the band Cream that Eric Clapton begins to really write the history of his legend. Cream is only a pretext for long improvisations on stage mixing blues and psychedelic rock. At the time it is even possible to see written on the walls of London: "Clapton is God!", so much his guitar play marks a whole generation. Jimi Hendrix will somehow dethrone him, but that's another story. Eric will then form Blind Faith with Steve Winwood in 1968, for the time of an album and a tour before definitively heading towards a solo career, which will also reveal itself very rich. And always current, his last album "The Lady in the Balcony: Lockdown Sessions" was released on November 12, 2021.

For the anecdote, Eric Clapton contributed to the world discovery of Bob Marley since he covered one of his songs which became a hit very quickly: "I shot the Sheriff".

Wonderful Tonight with Eric Clapton.

los clásicos perduraran, porque representa una forma de hacer música que se ha ido perdiendo, entre los 50 y los años 90 se creo la mayor y mejor música, ahora todo parece tan igual el mismo sonido con distintos rostros.
