Good afternoon, dear friends! *It's snowing again, small and thick snowflakes. March is the hardest month of the year. This month, the fight between winter and spring begins, and on March 5, the so-called grandmother's goats begin, about which there is a very interesting legend.

The story goes like this: Baba Marta, thinking that the weather will be nice in March, took her nine goats to the mountain in the first days of this month, while her grandfather stayed at home with the other nine. Grandma got angry and said: Hey March, you won't scare me, because I'm not afraid of you. Me and my nine-year-old goats are stronger than you. "March got angry, borrowed three days from February, and then came with a lot of snow and frost. On the thirteenth day in the evening, nine baby goats froze. *Today was a very nice day for me. Former students came to me.

They are now in the Gymnasium. We laughed a lot and remembered the days together. I received a necklace as a gift, royal blue. Every year, the American Pantone Color Institute chooses the color of the year. This year he chose blue. Royal blue. Blue has never gone out of fashion. Do you know why royal blue is called royal? No, no, not because of the royal blue blood 🙂

The royal blue color was invented by millers from the English county of Somerset who won the competition to make the perfect dress for British Queen Charlotte of Mecklenburg-Strelitz who lived from 1744 to 1818. Since then, the shade of dark blue has been called royal blue, often with a hint of pale purple or slightly reddish hue. The picture of the queen is from the internet.

Charlotte was the British Queen for as many as 57 years, from 1761 to 1818. In this way Charlotte surpasses all other wives of British kings in history. Interestingly, from 1814 she was even Queen of Hanover (that German kingdom was in a personal union with Great Britain).

The famous Buckingham Palace was originally intended for Queen Charlotte (the palace was bought for her by King George III from the heirs of the Duke of Buckingham). The king and queen also hosted young Mozart in London in his time, who traveled Europe as a child prodigy.

Interestingly, the famous plant Strelitzia reginae is named after Queen Charlotte, with gorgeous flowers (of course, the name Strelitzia comes from Charlotte's Mecklenburg-Strelitz dynasty). The city of Charlotte in the US state of North Carolina is also named after her.

Charlotte was queen for a long time alongside the famous Marie Antoinette in France. The two of them even corresponded and had a developed relationship. The French Revolution and the overthrow of the royal family in France reportedly greatly disturbed Queen Charlotte. Although she was 11 years older than Marie Antoinette, she outlived her by as much as 25 years (Marie Antoinette was executed at the age of only 37).

Same here, love. Mum and Dad in law used to tell me March is the coldest. It's been an awful day yesterday with strong winds and rain. So I'm looking forward to the real spring and summer.
