Postcard

Today the postman made me happy. He brought me a postcard.Gone are the days of writing letters and postcards ... that's why this day is so special to me.That piece of cardboard covered huge distances, passed through many hands, all the time carrying something essentially good - a greeting for family and friends. When they receive a postcard, they not only become part of our journey, but also receive the love with which the picture was chosen and the message written. The time you invest in a postcard is what makes it special. And that is their purpose. So, the next time you travel somewhere, take your time and send a postcard to your loved ones.@tanja011 it applies to you.Whenever I sit in my parents' living room, somewhere on the shelf, around the TV, next to the books, in the display case, there is a postcard. I see the historical center of Warsaw, pictures of safaris in Africa, Vienna, Sarajevo, Prijedor, Maribor, Osijek ... As much as postcards are just a consumable piece of paper, beautiful wishes and a work woven into them, it seems to me, last forever.

Once upon a time, in a world almost forgotten, people used postcards to send messages from afar. Today, we send messages in an instant and we are always connected with people. This, in turn, does not mean that postcards should become extinct, but that they just need to find a new purpose.

A postcard will always elicit a smile. It is not the message that makes someone happy, but the fact that wherever we are, we still think of that person.

When we travel, I want to believe that we are all looking for new, authentic experiences. Experiencing sending postcards at the city’s main post office, especially in a new country where you don’t speak the language is the right way to explore a new culture. Not only are post office buildings once beautiful, historic buildings, it is more important that they contain tradition. Whatever the building, it is enough to just think of all the people who were there before us, with their messages, emotions on a piece of paper, and warm wishes for someone far away. This aura is common to post offices and train stations. In any case, dealing with a language you do not know, trying to explain that Serbia is neither Syria nor Siberia (Siberia) is a challenge in itself. When you finally leave the post office, the postcards are sent, you feel like a winner.

That one day, when the postman carries a postcard to one home, he carries not only the usual problems, bills, but also joy. It is true that sometimes that joy arrives more slowly from Vietnam than we who sent it, but that is not the point of this story. A postcard is important.

Awwww! I love this post... Yes, a postcard is so much more than just a picture card. It is, as you said, a symbol of one thinking of another person and caring enough to take the time to select a postcard, write something on it, however short, address, stamp and send it off likely across the ocean. While getting messages in real time is okay, so much personality is gone this way. It's like letters written by hand.

I received a postcard for the first time, and it was from a long-time virtual friend in Greenland. It felt awesome to receive something like that from someone you have never met yet.
