I recently read a story about Nicholas.Before Santa Claus was born, the boy Nicholas lived in a small village by the Baltic Sea.. Since he was left an orphan early on, a child was taken care of by a family from that village who, in addition to him, also had four children of their own.One day before Christmas, a little boy, the youngest son of the family in which he lived, entered Nicholas' room. He cried and was sad because the toy he received as a gift broke. Nicholas fixed the toy, and then came up with the idea to make a toy for the other children and give it to them for Christmas.He worked diligently all night and before dawn he packed the toys and left them next to the bed where the children slept. Nicholas was only ten at the time. When the children woke up and saw the toys, they were full of happiness, and Nicholas then firmly decided that he would make wooden toys for the children every year before Christmas in order to make them happy.One winter, Nicholas fell asleep forever, but then Santa Claus was born.I will be modest.
Toboggan race
A few years later, a sleigh race was organized in the village. Nicholas decided to make a sled himself to take part in the race. They had to be fast to win and win the grand prize: new carved red sleds!
Since the race took place the day before Christmas, Nicholas decided to take with him the toys he made for the children from the village and to leave them on the doorsteps of their houses. As he imagined, so he did! The children were delighted with the gifts, and Nicholas managed to win the race and win new sleds.
The first toys
When he grew up, the father of the family hired Nicholas from an old carpenter with whom he started making toys for children, dollhouses, tables and chairs, wooden carts and many other beautiful and interesting things. Nicholas made them, and the old carpenter painted them. They finished the work two days before Christmas. They made a toy for every child in the village, packed them and put them in Nicholas' sleigh.
Red suit
One morning, the richest man in the village knocked on the door of Nicholas' workshop and ordered a cupboard. Nicholas was amazed by his lavish sleigh decorated with bells and flags. Instead of horses, these sledges pulled two reindeer. One was called Lightning and the other Whirlwind… The man was dressed in a soft fur coat and wore shiny black boots on his feet. The next day, Nicholas knocked on the door of Mrs. Elena, the best seamstress in the village. He told her he wanted a red fur coat. In addition to the fur coat, she sewed red trousers and a hat lined with white fur.
Reindeer
In the meantime, the village expanded so much that Nicholas did not manage to visit every house in just one night the following Christmas. His horse was already old, so Nicholas had to come up with a new way to transport toys quickly. When he heard that the rich man had failed financially and started selling his property, he decided to help him and bought from him a sleigh decorated with flags and silver bells, as well as his two reindeer. But the man told him that he could not only buy mom and dad reindeer, but also their six children. Nicholas took pity on him and bought a sledge and all eight reindeer from the man.
Nicholas is asleep forever…
Nicholas brought joy to all homes around the world for many years to come. But one winter, no one heard the sound of tools from his workshop and the villagers were very worried. When one day a girl noticed that smoke was not coming out of the chimney of his house, she ran to the house and found him sleeping. In fact, she thought she was sleeping… But good, old, noble Nicholas never opened his eyes again. He fell asleep in an eternal dream, but he remained in the hearts of children forever.
That's when Santa Claus was born.

The Konzum supermarket chain, which operates in our country under the name Idea, has adopted cryptocurrencies as a means of payment. From today, when buying groceries online, consumers will be able to pay in the following currencies: Bitcoin (BTC), Ether (ETH), bitcoin cash (BCH), EOS, DAL, Ripple (XRP), Stellar Lumen (XLM), Tether (USDT) , and USDC.
The introduction of cryptocurrency payments is another indicator that Konzum is constantly monitoring global trends, introducing innovations and setting standards in the retail sector. As the largest retail chain in Croatia, which in its almost 65-year history is a continuous leader in the domestic market in terms of business results and technological achievements, it is a leader in another area that is rapidly developing and dictating the future.
Payment is possible thanks to the cooperation with the Croatian crypto company Electrocoin, through the payment system PayCek (hehe, bonus like for playing with words). As Konzum states at the end of the announcement, it is planned to enable payment in cryptocurrencies in their stores throughout Croatia.
