Our dear Bangladesh is a beautiful country in the world. It is a land of green forests, trees, hills and vales, rivers, marshes and canals, wide-open meadows, etc. It has got a moderate climate that is neither too hot nor too cold. So our motherland is a so happy abode of different kinds of birds. Lots of birds have increased the beauty of our country. We both sleep at night and rise early in the morning hearing the sweet song of different birds. This is really charming to us.
There are so many birds in our country. They are different in size, color, and habit. They eat collecting different kinds of food. Some of them eat fish & flesh, some live on warms and some live on cold. Again some eat fruits and grains, some live on filth and garbages. Birds are divided into many classes & categories. They are mainly teasing birds, songbirds, rapacious birds, game birds, migratory birds, tailor birds, etc.
Crows and kites are known as teasing birds. The crow is a very much common bird in Bangladesh. It is a very clever bird. The crow steals away the food and other small things from our kitchen and from the hands of the little babies. It looks very ugly. Yet It is useful. The cow feeds on dead animals & dirty things. It has a harsh voice. The kite bird also steals away chickens, small fish, and pieces of flesh.
There are many songbirds in Bangladesh. The bird cuckoo is the most popular of all songbirds in Bangladesh. It comes to Bangladesh at the beginning of the spring season. Small boys and girls try to mutate a cuckoo when it sings. It hides itself behind leaves. The shyma, the doel, the koel, and the baukatha-kao, the mghttngle are well-known songbirds. Doel is our national bird. The Mayna, the Chandana, the Parrot, the Cockatoo, and the martin are known as talking birds. People tame them or their sweet voice and they can talk like human beings if they are trained.
Again, there are many game birds in Bangladesh. They are famous for their tasty flesh. The partridge, the dove, the pigeon, the snipe, the bittern, the heron, the teal, and the Lankan are the most well-known game birds.
There are some fish-eating birds in our country. They generally live beside the watery places like ponds, canals. They mainly eat small fish. The primary fish-eating birds are the crane, the heron, and the kingfisher, etc. Moreover, there are some birds of prey in our land. They are the vulture and the hawk. They mainly live on flesh and fish. The attractive parts of these birds are keen eyes and sharp nail. They swoop down upon their prey. The vulture eats upon dead animals.
In Bangladesh, there are some skilled birds that build their nests strongly. We wonder at their work. They are called tailor birds. The swallow, the Tunturi, and the babus are tailor birds. Besides, there are some night birds that come out at night. As they come out at night, they are called night-birds. The awful bird owl and the bat are of this kind. These kinds of birds do not come out in broad daylight. We hear the owl prowl at night. It is harmless. The bat feeds on fruits. It flies at night.
Many birds come from a foreign land in our country during autumn and winter. They are also famous for their flesh. These birds increase the natural beauty of Bangladesh for the time being. There are many other common birds in Bangladesh which we find here and there. Even, we don’t know the name of some birds. The woodpecker is a fine-looking bird. It makes a hole in the tree. Peacock is also a beautiful bird. The pigeon, the duck & the hen are known as domestic birds. They provide us with flesh and eggs. Many families in Bangladesh make a poultry farm and earn money.
Different types:
There are also different types of birds in our country. They are different in colour,size and habit. They eat different types of food. Some eat fish and flesh, some eat insects and some eat fruits. There are also different classes of birds. They are songbirds,Gamebirds,taking birds, migratory birds and teasing birds etc.
Songbirds:
The bird which can sing is called songbird.There are many songbirds in Bangladesh. They are the doel, the koel, the baukathakao etc. They are appear in the country at the beginning of the spring. Doel is the national bird of Bangladesh.
Takingbirds:
Takingbirds are bird that can imitate the speech of humans. There are many takingbirds in Bangladesh. The parrot,the mayna,the cuckoo etc are taking birds. They can talk with sweet voice like human beings.
The game birds:
Game birds are wild birds which are hunted in the wild by human for sports or food. There are many game birds in Bangladesh. They are the dove,the pigeon, the pan-kauri,the heron etc. A lot of game birds are more available in the supermarkets of the country.
The fish eating birds:
The birds that mainly like to eat fish is called fish eating birds. There are some fish eating birds that live besides the watery places. Ther are the kingfisher,the crane ,the heron etc.
Migratory birds:
There are some birds that travel from one place to another at regular times over long distances is called migratory birds. In Bangladesh, many migratory birds come from foreign land during autumn and winter to enjoy the climates in winter.
Domestic birds:
Any birds that has been bred within the country with resides in and lives in the care of humans is called domestic birds. The pigeon,the hen,the cock and the duck are domestic birds. They provide us with flesh,eggs etc. Many families make a poultry farm and earn a lot of money.
Usefulness:
People rise early in the morning hearing the song of different birds. Birds add largely to the beauty of nature in Bangladesh. They are also a source of food and fertilizer. Birds keep a role in balance of ecological systems l and economic importance to human. Many birds are essential in plant reproduction though there services as pollinators or seed disperses.
Birds are our good wealth. They are useful to us. They maintain a balance of health environment in nature. They contribute much to add beauty to nature in Bangladesh. So we should not kill them.
