Taylor Swift made history by occupying all the top ten spots of the Billboard chart this week. She released her new album, Midnights on October 21 and her songs rocketed to the top of the Billboard list in no-time.

The previous record was set by Drake. In September of 2021, Drake release an album called Certified Lover Boy and nine songs from the album where on the top ten Billboard list for a week.

Taylor Swift also managed to tie with Barbra Streisand for having the most number one album on Billboard in the female category.

Furthermore, Taylor broke the Spotify record of the most streams in a day from a single album.

How it all started

Taylor Swift was born on December 13, 1989 in Pennsylvania, United States. Her parents Scott and Andrea Swift named her after the singer and 6 times Grammy award winner, James Taylor (They must have seen her future).

She has always been interested in music and idolized the county music star Shania Twain, which led her to start performing in local events and festival at an early age. Together with her vocal lessons, she grew up to be the super-star we know today.

She moved to Nashville, Tennessee to fulfill her musical ambitions and it certainly paid-off. She was able to release her first album on October 24, 2006, named after herself. As her first album, it performed really good and was number five on the US Billboard. She continued and made 8 more albums before making her record breaking Midnights album.

In 2008, she made her country/pop album Fearless. It had songs like Love Story, You Belong with Me and Fearless that did amazing on Billboard. The album had the top place on Billboard for eleven weeks.

Speak Now came next in 2010. Songs from the album really did well in topping Billboard. The singles Mine and Back to December where among the high performing ones. The album was number one for six weeks on Billboard and went on to be six times platinum.

Red is Taylor Swifts' 4th album and it was released in 2012. It contained high achieving songs like We are Never Ever Getting Back Together, I knew You were Trouble and Red. The album also achieved to stay on top of the US Billboard for seven weeks.

Taylor made her fifth album, 1989 in 2014. Songs like Shake it Off and Bad Blood helped the albums win Album of the Year at the Grammy Awards. The album was also on top of Billboard for eleven weeks.

Her sixth album was Reputation and it was released in 2017. It contained beloved songs such as Look What You Made Me DO and Ready For It?. The album was on top of the Billboard chart for four weeks.

In 2019, she made her seventh album called Lover. Me!, You Need to Calm Down and Lover were among the singles that made the album standout. The album was also on top of the Billboard charts.

Taylor Swift made her 8th album, Folklore in 2020. Best known singles from the albums were Cardigan, Exile and The 1. As always, her album did great and was on top of US Billboard for 8 weeks.

Her ninth studio album came quickly after Folklore in the December of 2020 and it was called Evermore. It contained great songs such as Willow, Coney Island and No Body, No Crime. The album was number one on the Billboard list for four weeks.

Midnights

Her latest release, Midnights is not only topping music charts but also breaking previous records. Currently, all top ten of the Billboard chart is occupied by songs from this album and it's as follows:

  1. Anti-Hero

  2. Lavender Haze

  3. Maroon

  4. Snow on the Beach

  5. Midnight Rain

  6. Bejeweled

  7. Question...?

  8. You're on Your Own, Kid

  9. Karma

Whether you're a fan of Taylor Swift or not, you have to admit her past and present record makes her one of the best in the music world.

I think it is appropriate to conclude with her current number one single, and I hope you enjoy it!
