My 1st blog!
If we are meeting a new person for the first time in this world, we shake hands with him first. Since this is my first article on this platform today, the subject of today's article is something like the history of the handshake. Shaking hands is a common way of meeting in societies around the world and is also common in social and business environments, although most experts agree that shaking hands is an ancient world ritual that continues to this day.
History of handshake:
According to conservative estimates, the practice of shaking hands began in Egypt in 2800 BC. Some of the evidence for its origins is well-known. Some researchers believe that the handshake began when the ancient Egyptian kings shook hands with statues of various Gods. They believed that this action would transfer the powers of the Gods to them.
The pictorial words on Egyptian tombs and coffins, etc., have an outstretched arm for the word "give". However, most historians now agree that the starting point for a handshake is in a fight between men. Men usually carried various weapons such as swords or daggers with their right hand. When a man was shaking hands and offering his right hand to another person, he was also testifying to the fact that the person extending the hand has no weapon and the other man to whom the hand is pointing. There is no intention to harm what is being presented.
Because women did not usually carry weapons, they did not participate in handshakes like men. The practice of shaking hands with women began in modern times, especially as women entered the business world, making it common for people of both sexes to shake hands.
In ancient times, shaking hands was seen as a sign of peace. The ritual of shaking hands also created acceptance and equality among the people
Our hands play a very important role in our communication. Hands are the most important part of our body language. It would not be wrong to say that hands have their own language. There is, in fact, a very strong connection between our hands and our brain. What we are thinking or what our emotions are is somehow unintentionally manifested by the movement of our hands. Therefore, by observing the movements of one's hands, we can know a great deal about the thoughts that are going on in his mind.
Different types of handshakes have different effect on personality:
So friends, we will try to find out what the manner of shaking hands has to do with our personality.
Glove handshake:
When you shake hands with someone or someone shakes hands with you both hands instead of one hand. That is, cover your hand by both of his hands like a glove. Such a handshake is called a glove handshake.
With a handshake like this, the next person is giving you the impression that they are trying to make you feel comfortable and relax. I will take care of your feelings. You can trust me. I will keep your secret. This kind of handshake is also called politician handshake.
Crusher handshake:
If someone grabs your hand and presses it hard and keeps pressing for a while, it is called a crusher handshake. This handshake falls into the category of Aggressive handshake. In this way, people are showing their strength and aggression with the help of handshake. Such people are self-confident and enthusiastic. They believe in accomplishing their tasks and you know how to remove obstacles in the way of success.
This kind of handshake sometimes does not leave a good impression on people. Some people feel bad by pressing their hands hard.
Fast handshake:
The third type of handshake is the fast handshake. As the name suggests, the person shaking hands in this handshake is in a hurry. He grabs the hand of the next servant, shakes it up and down a little, and leaves. Such a handshake means that the servant does not care about you. Or it may be that they are still there and have little time to give you. So let him go. Fast handshake also shows this person's nervousness.
