*The Batmobile before we gave her, her tattoo, below you will see her custom love modification.*

As explained in our Fundraiser, we are currently being thrown out of our current home, and will be going on an adventure with a really tight budget in the search of a new home. So here is an update about where we are at and what we have been doing.

Mobility:

The car we had available to us is a small mercedes CDI which has hardly any space in it for a total move unless we just leave nearly everything behind. I was given permission to sell the car initially and use the funds to invest in a van, but the offers we received were not worth the actual value of the car despite its old age. I checked on getting a trailer, but quickly was stunned how much just a tiny trailer attachment costs.

We decided to keep our initial car for the time being and I spent 1,800 on an old 1987 Renault Express for the sake of getting our stuff on the road. As creatives, we have my silversmithing gear, my alchemical laboratory gear, our painting & leather crafting tools & we wanted to take along at least one of our 2 singer sewing machines. Additionally we have an empty hive, ready for bees at our new location, 2 Royal Pythons which will need their terrarium and potentially Brownie the Year Old Labrador if he pulls through until our departure. (Not as obvious in his state, poops happen unnoticed, but otherwise very aware, still hungry like a Labrador, but can't stand up on his own, yet can walk a couple meters once up.)

Anyway back to the car, The little Renault had enough room to accommodate everything & the little that would not have fit in there should actually be able to fit in the other car.

We thought it would be a good backup, since the old 1987 Renault will only prove its trustworthiness for real, once we hit the road, since our first destination will be a 1300km drive to Croatia we should find out what she's made of by then. Until then I have only driven it during the sale & a small trip to friend & back since it got registered fully a few days ago, so while it is heck of a lot of fun to run, I have not enough information to discern how durable it also is. That same first destination might be the property we end up choosing actually.

House/ New Destination / Search:

The one I mentioned above, It will cost us 22,000 Euro, which is also the maximum amount we're able to pay, leaving us with enough to cover living costs for a couple of months. The house itself is livable but needs a good dose of renovation, it includes 1500m2 of garden, and a separate plot of land across the street that is 1500m2 of forest.

We thought that this would give us plenty of room to start our little Bee Sanctuary & also to have enough space to learn to provide for more of our own needs through gardening & homesteading. Hopefully able to reduce a lot of our living costs just by that. We are not yet decided but it has drawn our attention to itself, and initially was available for only 29,000 but the owner was willing to go lower since he enjoyed our vision for what we would like to do, and has so far agreed to 22,000 being acceptable.

*Financially:*

So far our [fundraiser](smaragdisrubor.art/fundraiser) has not really raised much, so we're still hoping to find some more support as the project advances, in the mean time we have also been planning ahead thinking about how to create a few small reliable income streams, things we will dedicate ourselves to with commitment, while balancing it such that ideally we can give as much time as possible to renovating, building & creating the emergence of our Vision, a Bee Sanctuary made manifest.

*Creative Blessing of our Batmobile:*

This post was inspired by the car that is older than the both of us. This beauty will be responsible for carrying the weight of our limited belongings. Born 1987, both of us, are from the 90's & 89's. All analog & mechanical, no computerized electronics. She has a lot of soul I must say, I feel like a kid driving an old-school fuel driven go-kart, viscerally it feels really alive. So I end it here with our little loving modification to bless her, KPHI carefully painted our "Smaragdis Rubor" Logo where she was missing the Renault Logo.
