Education is the most powerful weapon which you can use to change the world, it is the key to unlocking the world and a passport to freedom.
Today, I withness a very startlement scenario,I was passing by a primary school when I overheard a teacher tongue-lashing a child for failing his arithmetic classwork, he called him brainless, stupid,dull,gomless and a boneheaded boy. To say am shock is an understatement, I was nervously strike because my experience so far, I know a qualified teacher will never condemn or criticize a student despite his weakness but rather absolve,acquit, exculpate, exonerate or vindicate the students for failing his arithmetic.
I went to the class to talk to her to please avoid foul,gross,horrid and nasty languages when communicating to her students.But rather aggrandize, canonize, elevate to them till they understand, to try as much as possible to teach the kids, using different teaching methods as different students has different methods of understanding and background,when you explain with discussion method for instance without positive yield, cabbage to another methods. I thought she is going to react,but to my surprise she humbly accept her mistakes, apologise to the student and continues her lessons.
Teaching is a profession that gave birth to other profession,no profession doesn't channel through a teacher, to me teaching is a profession I derive pleasures, contentment, delectation, delight, happiness,relish and satisfaction in it, I take my profession to be the best because no one can pay a teacher,we paid our lawyers,drivers, bankers for service rendered,but teachers no one can pay them, because no one can take away what you have learnt from you, it's permanently yours forever.
But along my studyline, I have discovered that most education students are proudly denaying their courses, attimes we studied a course for four years or more, and watch someone hostling or jaundicing it in our presence,this is obloquy.
This can never be accepted by other professions, a medical doctor can never watch a hausa or yoruba graduate doing a Caesarean section in his presence, because he wouldn't want to see his profession in blueness or lewdness, but we teachers, watch other people taking over our profession and smiting it in mud. We really need to acclimate.
Graduate of several departments now takes over teaching profession,when there is no job vacancies for them,when such people are seen in teaching line jackleging it, let us not keep silence and watch our profession crumbled,let's annul them in the best way we can.
Even our higher institution seems to demerit education courses, and that why others students takes us to be deficient,they profess only students with lowest grade in jambs are crusade to education departments. This is spurious, because some education students scored excellently in jamb, they were just remodel due to large number of students applying for a particular course,or due to catchment area demerit but not because they can't their grades can't afford other professional courses or because they are dopey ,they are brainpower.
If you assume education students to be dumo, then get ready for your kids will get a share from their dumbness."The art of teaching is the art of assisting discovery." "A teacher affects eternity; he can never tell where his influence stops." "They may forget what you said but they will not forget how you made them feel." That who they are.
Until we appreciate ,embower,and enshroud education and recognize, respect and give cardial virtue to teachers can our nation develop, education is the best legacy , teachers are the nation builders, they studies the highest number of courses, including psychology, philosophy and sociology,in addition to the subordinate courses such as chemistry,english,mathematics,hausa,Islamic studies,or french, with farther two years teaching practices. Isnt that a ponderous exertion?
Without a criterion,a virtuous and competent education students should be recognize anywhere for their frank,direct,candid, free-hearted,out-front, unreserved,free-spoken method of expressions in crowds and public gatherings They never have phobia for large crowds.
Only in education can you learn how to handle situations in learning process, understand individual differences, create conducive learning climate, selection of learning strategies and methods, giving guidance to learners, evaluate learning outcomes, impliment learning principles, and lot more.
Education is a channel to happiness, vacancies,growth and development,an investment in knowledge pays the best interest, I like what I do because I have seen how what I do as change the society and build me physically, socially, psychologically, mortally,and intellectually, I have grown up not to only as a teacher but a born and authoritative one.
I have learnt to be strong but not rude, to be kind but not weak,to be bold but not bully,to be thoughtful but not lazy,to be humble but not timid,to be proud but not arrogant,to have sense of humor but not without folly,to inspire , impact and motivate the younger onces.
Education is a course not a curse,to study education is a privilege and honor not disqualification, I am an educationist and am proud of it..
