The latest iOS 14 software update for the iPhone added the Back Tap function, which allows you to execute simple activities by tapping the logo on the back of your phone. The iPhone, Apple's main device, has received a software update to version 14 of the mobile operating system. You'll find plenty to gnaw at with iOS 14. While every major update to Apple's iOS includes a new set of capabilities, this is the first time the back logo has been used, according to Daily Record.

You read that correctly. The half-eaten apple emblem on the back of your iPhone may now be used to do a variety of tasks and activate accessibility features. This function, known as "Back Tap," was introduced in iOS 14. Customizing the software is essential. It's easy to see a scenario in which Apple limited Back Tap to only a few predefined options aimed at making the iPhone UI more accessible. However, by allowing Shortcuts, the business transformed Back Tap into a tool for unrestricted creativity, allowing users to come up with their own methods to use the new button on the back of their smartphones.

HOW DO I ACTIVATE THE "BACK TAP" FUNCTION?

Follow these simple steps to get started:

Step 1: Go to the Settings menu.

Step 2: Select "Accessibility" from the drop-down menu.

Step 3: Select "TouchTouch Accommodations".

Step 4: Locate "Back Tap" by scrolling down.

You may adjust the number of taps as well as the actions you can designate here. They can configure any action to back tap, including Shortcuts automation, accessibility features, and iOS system functions.

You can use "Back Tap" according to your convenience now that you know how to activate the feature and assign actions to your logo. Double-tap or triple-tap can be assigned to actions such as the home screen, lock screen, volume control, and screenshot.

Accessibility features like a magnifier, assistive touch, Siri Shortcuts, voice-over, and so on can also be assigned to the iPhone's back logo. "Back Tap" is a highly useful alternative to the more traditional methods of executing tasks and retrieving accessibility features. It should be noted, however, that this feature is only available with the iOS 14 upgrade and may only be utilized on iPhones 8 and higher.

In recent months, the iOS software has undergone significant changes. The company handed out iOS 15 in September, marking the fifteenth major upgrade to their operating system. According to Apple, the iOS 15 will be compatible with all iOS 14-compatible devices.

Compatibility with iOS 14's back tap

Since the announcement of this feature, users have been asking whether the iPhone 7 has back tap capabilities or whether the iPhone 6 has back tap functionality. They do not support the back tap feature, so the answer is no. Despite the fact that iOS 14 is compatible with the iPhone SE, iPhone 6s, iPhone 7, and iPhone 7 Plus, these models aren't compatible with Apple's newest functionality feature.

A very short one today but very informative. Thanks for reading!
