The decision on holding the postponed Higher Secondary Certificate (HSC) and its equivalent examinations will likely be announced this week.
"We will announce the decision later this week. There is a possibility of declaring the decision on Thursday," Deputy Education Minister Mohibul Hassan Chowdhoury
He said the education ministry was assessing the matter.
He made the comments after Education Minister Dipu Moni on September 30 said they would announce their specific plans regarding holding of the HSC exams on Monday or Tuesday.
HSC and its equivalent exams slated for April 1 were postponed on March 22 in fear of coronavirus transmission. More than 13 lakh students were expected to take part in the exams and are now passing their days in anxiety.

The government postponed the exams following the closure of all educational institutions since March 17. The government closed the schools to contain the spread of Covid-19, and the closure has been extended till October 30.
