Rapid Action Battalion claimed to have busted a firearms-making factory in a remote hilly area of Ukhia upazila in Cox's Bazar and arrested two firearms makers in this connection.
The arrestees are: Abu Majid alias Kana Majid and Robi Alam of Moheshkhali upazila, said Major Mehedi Hasan, deputy commanding officer of Rab-15, yesterday.
Acting on a tip-off, a team of Rab-15 launched a drive in Madhurchhara, which is adjacent to Kutupalong Rohingya camp, on Friday afternoon and arrested Majid and Robi, said Major Mehedi.
Later, the Rab team recovered two guns, two bullets and several equipment used for manufacturing firearms from a hut set up by the arrestees, he claimed.
The duo had been making and supplying firearms to Rohingya robbers for a long time, claimed the Rab official.
